I'm thinking about living in a bus

I have an office cubicle. constructed like a cubicle but goes all the way to the ceiling. It has a door for a bit of privacy but also has a strip of glass right beside the door so everyone who comes in always peers into the window for a few seconds like a stalker before knocking.[Edited on July 31, 2013 at 12:55 AM. Reason : I'd give up a few hundred bucks a year for a real office.]

K so I have an office at new job now... It's small but it'll do.

I had my own office, then got a new job where I went to a cube. So I basically got somewhere around $25K to move to a cubicle. Honestly, I don't really give a shit. I'm barely in the office anyway.

as someone who is always in the office i would hate an open environment where anyone could monitor my actions at any given time. honestly, i would be less productive in that setting not being able to browse the web freely when i need a break for a few minutes.

not a cent - I hate working in an office building, cube or office.

Not a cent. I have an office in RTP that I visit 2-3 times a month for about 2 hours. I have no objections to getting rid of it. I prefer to work from home.

I don't think I would get anything done working from home.It would probably be like internet based classes, where I never got anything done either.

^ thisIt's the worst kind of job I could possibly have.Well, other than the one I have now.

Most jobs have some sort of metrics by which you are measured and peers by which you are compared. WFH is more convenient for slacking off, but the work doesn't go away just because you're not doing it. Work until 2:00 a.m. to finish a project that could have been done much earlier a few times and the allure of slacking off to watch TV or do other dumb shit kind of goes away. If you're not the type of person who will work until 2:00 a.m. just so you don't end up late on a project then it's not going to work for you. Also, daytime TV sucks and all your friends are at work, so there's that.

i make more money without my own office than when i had my own. it helps though because im in an open office with a coworker that i need to coordinate with a lot

I've moved into my new office from my old one, and I am really, really happy in it.It would take an act of congress or something to get me back into a cube or my old office.

I wouldn't trade any money because I don't make a lot and I like the woman I share an office with. Makes the day go by faster when you have someone that'll listen to you complain.
