I got too much tire to scratch the wheels.

lets go do one wheel burn outs in a parking lot. Oh wait, I can't...CVT.

May try and take this boat to an autoX though. Could be interesting. only 17' turning radius.

Um, how exactly do you have a 17' turning radius? Your car is over 16' long, I don't see how you could do a 17' turn even with the hand brake.

radius, so diameter would be 34' to make a u-turn.

Yes, paint the grill.

Same grill, painted black:

I think I like it better.

not planning on it.

Working on a way to get rid of the front plate holder as well, but I have those stupid holes drilled in the bumper.

Not to get too forum-y, but seriously just plasti-dip your grille and see if you like it. I've had the grille on my M Coupe done for ~3 months with 0 signs of wear (and when I realize it looks dumb in the near future, it's a 15 minute job to get it off, max).

How does it hold up is my concern. I spend at least 2 hours a day on the highway. My front end takes a beating. A lot of people says it hold up great, and drive like 10k miles a year, vs my 45k.

Also paint the lower valence and middle part of the bumper black in the middle to give it the Lexus LFA look.

Apparently it's a Nissan thing.

I still don't have any chips in my grille after 4 months of driving (20 min commute). Just be sure to put down lots of thin coats (maybe 5-6 coats or so) to ensure you get a nice progressive layer on there.

I decided to keep the grill billet.

Met up with Hiro today for a bit. Apparently when I take a hard turn, I lift my rear wheel.
I guess the new rear sway bar is really working. Factory is a 20mm tube, and I replaced it with a 27mm solid, and adjustable unit.

I'm getting a second set of wheels for the maxima. I'm trying to decide between matte gun metal or silver. The plan is to eventually black out the chrome around the window, and the side mirror caps.

Help me decide and give me your opinions:

They will be here in 5-7 days.

Someone buy one of the guns I have for sale in the classifieds so I can put tires on as soon as they get here and not have to wait till next month.

Got the wheels on, and I'm very happy.
The ride quality is not nearly as harsh as I thought it would be.
Tires are Nitto 555, 255/35/20
The wheels are 20x9 et30
The wheels are slightly inset from the fenders, but would probably rub over bumps if they were flush.

Decided to have more fun with the car. New sub setup.

The old setup was 2- JL Audio 10W3 subs in an 1.8 cu.ft box.

That was nice an all, and didn't take up a ton of trunk space (12" total thickness), but was still more than I wanted to give up in the long run.
In comes the JL Audio 13.5w6. The sub is over twice the size in every dimension, yet will take up less space. I will have to raise the floor of the trunk 2" though.

The finished volume is ~3.5 cu.ft. That is over twice what the sub needs. I'll probably end up adding some blocks of foam to the inside to take up some space.
Not quite done yet, as I still need to complete the raised trim panels. Then the factory trunk carpet will go back over the whole thing, for a completely stealth install. If I want to show off, all I need to do is leave the carpet at home, and the trunk will remain usable.

This is running off a JL 500/1 amp. It is amazingly loud. I had the gain appropriately set for the 10s, and that was about 40%. I have had to turn the gain to about 10% in order to balance with the factory stereo. I also took this opportunity to do a stealth install of a bass control knob under the factory radio. This lets me turn it up when I feel like vibrating my brain.

How many layers of glass are in the bottom? And whats the trick for affixing the baffle to the glass?

I used 2-3 layers. For a free standing, or rigid structure, 5-7 layers is needed. Where there are curves and bends, you don't need as many layers. Since I am up against the trunk tub on all sides, I didn't need as much rigidity. If I made it again, I would add one more layer though. When I pulled the tub out, There were a couple of flat spots that were more flexible than I would have liked.

You can see the traced marks off the spare tire tub onto the MDF. I then lined up the FG tub and the glassed it to the MDF. I used a flap wheel 80 grit sander to the bonding surface of the FG tub.
You can see the overlap of the glass and resin on the picture with the sub installed.
