I'll just turn this into a personal blog

That Nissan pit strategy is really working out....

So far, two of them have more pits than the main contenders, BUT 1 has 1 less stop and is only 25 laps back! audi and porsche better watch out. haha

went back to the eurosport here: http://www.crichd.tv/eurosport-1-hd-live-stream.php

I just prefer their commentary over the others I've heard or I'd turn on the foxsports stream. (just switched to foxsports stream and was bored to tears and miserable in under 30 seconds)

I just can't sit and watch the fucking vette cam nonstop. I'll check it out occasionally.

http://henno.info/ then pick a stream, I'm using UStream 1. It's the same Eurosport feed that jaZon posted but the picture is a whole lot better.

EU1 and EU2 are hennostreams own servers and I think they got overloaded, but the UStream feeds work fine

Those ads are easy to click off - but no idea about the screencast full screen shit.

I just swapped to your henno/ustream link - It wouldn't work for me earlier for whatever reason.

So, wasn't Nissan's plan at one point to be super fast on the straights? That was supposedly one of the big advantages of the FWD/aero design they were going for. I just noticed their best top speed is still 10mph slower than audi.

Did they do anything right with that car?

Nope that GT/R is a huge pile of shit. I pretty much hate nissan, and have to fight the urge to barf every time a maxima commercial says "4 door sports car"

Jesus, reading people switch from talking up the Nissan to bending over backwards to find excuses for why it was a complete an utter fucking failure...it's like dealing with the most insanely deluded members of a cult

they didn't even run the Nissan in the configuration they unveiled. The original plan was to have some hybrid power going to the rear wheels, but apparently that was all scrapped. Were they even running any hybrid power at all? If they didn't have any regenerative braking, that would explain why they kept cooking brakes

It's a shitty design, that's why they kept baking brakes. Front wheel drive generates more heat up front, the front does most of the braking, which generates more heat.... I'd respect them if they actually showed up wanting to win, instead of trying to be a 3 ring circus like they've been doing the last few years.

That POS will never be withing 10 seconds of the class leaders, but people will still scream its innovative.

I was let down by Toyota. Why are they not a top contender?

I didnt fully expect Audi to win this year anyway since they're running a 3? year old car now. I'm interested to see if they have a new car next year? Isnt 3 years the typical lifespan for these teams?

So their peak power output was about half then, and the brakes had to work harder (and Nissan never got the super special magic tires they wanted, they couldn't develop them in time)

With another year of development I bet they put up competitive times, and if the track is wet their car actually has an advantage

I understand the testing platform argument..

They need to understand that it's also an advertising platform... i mean if they weren't riding the GTR hype from the 90s and us not being able to have one... i don't think they'd sell a single performance oriented car.

all their last couple showings have been is a giant add that not only does NMSJ...but they pirate that junk's ideas from other groups.

*soo much hate for them right now*

*pretty pissed at yota too for letting subaru and bimmer develop their performance cars*

I don't recall Nissan ever claiming their FWD design would give them a tire wear advantage. I believe the entire reason of the FWD design was "to be different" and allowing for a much more aggressive downforce, air ducting, etc scheme since there was minimal drivetrain hardware in the rear of the car.

And driving that POS in the rain would give them little to no advantage.

Also I don't get the joke about the Ford GT race car

Think I answered my own question; looks like the Ford GTE car wasn't even in the race? Guess they "debuted" it at La Sarthe but it won't race till next season? Some gay shit

^^

I'm curious to see how it performs. I suspect they're going to have major problems with reliability; safe enough bet. But will they solve them?

And that Nissan was literally the slowest car in the entire field through the faster turns. Entirely due to understeer and having such fucked up suspension geometry they couldn't hit the kerbs. The in car camera looked like it was a nightmare to drive. The reliability, hybrid system, and the other cluster fuck of issues is letting people over look the basic flaw of the design. Innovation is awesome, when it's not just for the sake of being different (and advertising).

People keep mentioning that Porsche was out in no time last year, but forget it was due to part failure. They were actually competing.

I mean it was entirely possible, given they developed a running street version almost entirely under the cloak of secrecy.

That Nissan is a POS. I drove it last night in GT6 (its the final challenge in this year's GT Academy). Drives like an overpowered Civic hatchback, aka, shitty. I will say though, had excellent stability and control in high speed turns, such as the Porsche curves. (this all in the virtual world of course )

can't believe there's no high res (at least 1080) version of this floating around

Edit: ALSO, during le mans, what the hell happens to all the people that live within the perimeter of the track? There are definitely residences in there.

Yea, the broadcast was pretty good. I don't know how I get away with getting a free trial every year, but whatever.

Really looking forward to next year, assuming these hypercar class manufacturer's actually show up.
