my good friend Bryan from back home (Gville) was shot at 8am, point blank, going to class in Greenville in like 2002.He was being robbed, Bryan put up a fight, the gun came out and Bryan grabbed this kid's leather coat before he could get away, cellphone in pocket. The kid who shot my friend was actually a fellow student of ours in high school.Greenville is a terrible place.[Edited on June 22, 2013 at 2:17 PM. Well, I like being back in Greenville, but I'm ten miles outside of Greenville near Ayden. I get country living with the amenities of a city (small city, but still a city). Violent crime seems to be contained to certain areas of the city. Plenty of property crime all over town, but violent crime isn't as widespread.

I live in Greenville, and I feel like the idea behind the movie "The Purge" is the norm here. I'm awake now because I keep hearing noises outside and people are always walking around 24/7. And I live in a pretty good area.

I used to think Greenville was like Mayberry or something people seemed so friendly there, maybe I was just smashed every time I went there.
