Played through this game over the holidays and just couldn't put it down. I think about 16-20 hours on normal.***SPOILERS***All I could think about after seeing the ending was why did Tommy end up quitting and leaving the fireflies? Did I miss this somewhere in that section of the game at the hydro plant (besides his family, etc.). I'm thinking Tommy knew what Joel would find at the hospital and that's why he offered pretty intently to just let them stay with them. Thoughts?***SPOILERS***

My only complaint about this game is that there is absolutely no penalty when you die. It just spawns you right before the encounter. It really, really decreases the tension.

Finished it today. Wow, good game. SPOILER*****I suspect Ellie knew the truth at the end and is going to split ways w Joel. I can't believe he didn't let her make the decision to save herself or humanity... Not cool.

Finished this last night. Loved every minute of it. Thought the ending was beyond fucked up, but so was everything else in the story.*** SPOILERS ***^^^I think they deliberately left that part vague. My guess would be Tommy was hoping to make a difference with the fireflies, but became frustrated with the lack of progress and quit. Joel mentions that it's a pattern with Tommy.^^It would've been REALLY frustrating to have to repeat large sections of the game, especially if you (like me) was eager to get the next part of the story. They could've included an option similar to the disabling vita chambers on Bioshock though.^Yeah, I think Joel assumed Ellie would want to live (Marlene probably thought this too) right up until her speech about Riley. He probably didn't think Ellie would approve of murdering Marlene, which is why he lied.*** SPOILERS ***

I started this a couple weeks ago and have put in about 8 hours. I'm enjoying it

I think I'm retracting my previous statement about a death penalty. I seriously died about 15 times when i got booted down to the basement of a building. Been a while since I got frustrated.I may not like the trend of cinematic gaming but damn this is done so well.

anybody have trouble loading this game?it sometimes takes the ps3 a while to even recognize the gamethen sometimes takes forever loadingi've gotten to a point where the game keeps messing up, and actually locks my entire ps3 up. the only way i can reboot it is by unplugging it. this is the first time i've ever had this problem (although i've had trouble recognizing blue-rays before)

For lazy me, how much is it?

in the hospital there is a voice recorder where the doctor is reviewing ellie and says "like the others." does that mean that there really were other immune people, and they just weren't succesful with getting a vaccine?

Also if you haven't played the game on Survival mode I highly recommend it. Tense as hell. It feels like the way the game was meant to be played but they were too scared to make it as hard. Yea, totally feels like a different game.

I've gotta get my PS3 fixed so I can get this game.

Oh they lifted the 3 month limit. Anyway the Left Behind DLC is the simply the greatest thing I've seen in videogame cinematics yet. Totally went under the radar. BRICK MOTHERFUCKING MASTER!

Just finished on the PS4. One of my favorite games. I'm really late to the party though. This didn't feel like a game that has been out for four years.I couldn't help but think Joel was a strange mix of Billy Bob Thornton with the voiceover, and a mix between Gerard Butler and the guy from Hell on Wheels.

I don't know about the book, but the movie The Girl With All The Gifts is almost a direct pull of this games plot but with a younger girl and in England. And she isn't exactly "immune" So not at all the same I get But fungus based zombies, little girl holds the key

I've had this game since Christmas of 2016 and haven't played it yet. My son has been playing games a lot so we normally play his games. Hope to get to it eventually.

^It is definitely worth the time, and you'll most likely get sucked into the story.^^I thought the same thing when I started playing this, but I wasn't sure what came first, the movie or the game.

^^Same here. Still in the shrinkwrap - PS3.I've been putting it off for a long time. I expect the graphics will be jarring... or jagging... or both.
