played a little bit with hey now. takes a min to get through some intro stuff. fair warning, if you join someone that's been playing there's a chance you won't be able to do much (no seriously; i joined hey now and a majority of the enemies i shot at were "immune" to all my weapons).

hoping to get a better feel for the game tonight/this weekend but time will be limited. i don't hate it, but i don't quite love it yet either.

I get it - but I don't understand where the multiplayer is or how to play with someone like ^ did. Where is that option?

I think only doing the multiplayer matches (like a round of Halo) will normalize your stats (but not weapons from what I hear), general questing will be dependent upon your level and the area you're in just like other MMO sorts of games. I'm excited about both aspects of the game, but I can see where if you're not a big MMO/Adventure game type that gearing up could be a trial.

I'm curious to know if you leveled more rapidly questing with Hey Now though, usually that's the tradeoff for doing nil damage in situations like that.

Seemed like an xbox issue. Slave couldn't hear me, but Sic could. Then I couldn't hear Sic later that night. Then it worked perfectly.

the open map + dom is pretty fun IMO
i'm with fenix on this one, not quite sold. i've been enjoying it for the most part but i'm not sure it's going to be worth the price. for better or worse, you can definitely tell it's halo underneath it all.

I enjoy it, will probably keep my preorder. I don't mind that it feels a bit like Halo,it was Bungie's IP and their claim to fame. Crucible is fine, might need to mess with it more. I enjoy the MMO aspects the most, and the matchmaking for the Strike Missions seemed to work great. Admit I get a little excited every timei see an exarch drop

You get it after level 5. You get an invite from some dude in the tower, and its "crucible" on the map.

note that once you get to level 5 you have to go to the tower, down into the middle to talk to the crucible guy to accept an invitation before the multiplayer/crucible planet will show up when youre picking a destination from unit

Downloaded this last night. I was a little confused about the whole fire-team concept.

I take it this is like an instant with a few randomly selected team mates. Do you have to work together if you want to be able to complete the mission? Everyone seems to be running around doing their own thing.

Is there an option where you can choose to go it solo?

Do you sometimes get dropped into an instance where the monsters are a higher level than you? One time, my shots didn't seem to have any effect and all the monsters had a ? on them.

You have to invite a friend or get invited to play with a group. (3 people) Otherwise you'll play solo by default.

Yes, sometimes the monsters are higher level and your shots do nothing. Usually happens when playing with higher level friends.

fuck was just about to buy a rifle I wanted and the stock rotated on me

I got like 2 glass shards for beating that giant tank event and don't know where they went or what they do. The events remind me of incoming games from Reboot

why are some of the enemies fighting each other?

Played with all the classes and I think I'll be going Warlock on release.

I like the dismantle system, saves me the trouble of running to a vendor every time I need to sell something. Plus it looks like you'll get items that get incorporated into a crafting/leveling system for your gear. I'm assuming the spinmetal and the glass shards will play into that eventually as well.

Seems like they'll be doing a minimal amount of explaining through the story, and for a lot of people that love lore they can access that info through the grimoire system.

Crucible took a while to adjust to, but in the end it's fun. Highlight for me was running with my warlock and unleashing my special to disintegrate 3 opponents with one blow.

I'm pretty psyched about this game in general, 9/9 seems too far away.

I didn't see anything in the thread, nor did I play the beta multiplayer for more than 5 minutes at a friend's house but how is the matchmaking going to work? will there be a stock gear set up that is standard or will a level 10 with purple gear destroy my level 10 with decent gear? Will there be both - as in a stock gear set up game type and then a game type with full on all gear allowed?

I'm just worried about people who are able to put that grind in to get the legendary gear items versus me who is only looking for something thats maybe 5-15 hours a week and enjoying it. I could never keep up with WoW gear leveling and never will be able to at this point in my life

I think there might be a couple different modes, based off of the beta.

General Crucible seems to normalize all your levels and stats, which evens the playing field. I think Iron Banner events will not do this and will take into account levels/character builds/gear in the game. Whether or not Iron Banner will have the intelligence to group players into comparable groups I'm not sure.

I'll mostly be playing this for the campaign/MMO aspects. I enjoyed the strike team missions more than crucible matches as a rule. I'm curious if there'll be endgame content that will handle more than a 3 person team.
