That's what I thought. The issue was iMessaging taking forever to activate.

$75 for ATT Straight talk simyay or nah?
4/18/2013 2:09:59 PM
^ I would say go for it. My wife got one for 80 but she has been very happy with her service and it will pay for itself in 2 months.
4/18/2013 2:19:48 PM
is tmobile that bad?
4/25/2013 9:31:20 PM
Depends how much you like to have service. If you rarely go in to rural areas its probably fine, just do not go on a road trip anywhere and expect to use your phone.
4/25/2013 9:54:05 PM
yeah, tmo is the sprint of GSM...you get it because you don't want to pay more, not because they have good coverage
4/26/2013 7:34:11 AM
looks like net10 has at&t, affordable sim cards and a discounted family plan for 42.50 per person
4/26/2013 8:49:40 AM
^ unlimited everything? you can bring your own phone?i recently saw them advertised...i wonder if ST quit carrying AT&T SIMs because net10 became AT&T's "official" MVNO...[Edited on April 26, 2013 at 9:31 AM. Reason : .]

It all seems too good to be true and slightly sketchy. Also they point out its not unlimited data it's 1.5mb for an ATT sim and no way to get more data until the next cycle. The website might as well have a "win a free ipad for participating in a survey on mortgages" http://www.net10wireless.com/#/plans/family. But, as i posted in the Verizon thread, the nexus is a draw for me and the plans are a bonus. I think that's why it was easier to ignore these plans before due to the lack of unlocked devices. The Nexus doesn't have an fully functional LTE radio but i read HSPA+ in most areas is fast enough to browse and stream some stuff.
4/26/2013 12:54:58 PM
you mean 1.5GB? no thanks. i'll eat that up in a day or so.
4/26/2013 1:50:30 PM
Youre right, GB.net10 does t-mobile as unlimited but im concerned about coverage. youre at a gig a day! do they throttle you often?[Edited on April 26, 2013 at 2:26 PM. Reason : .]
4/26/2013 2:21:28 PM
sorry, I meant to say "a few days or so" Last month I used 17GB. Never been throttled (on vzw; but am looking to switch if I lose my unlimited data).[Edited on April 26, 2013 at 2:56 PM. Reason : .]

5/7/2013 1:40:52 PM
^that's where I get mine. Never had a problem and I've bought probably 30 refills now. All from one classifieds seller though.

6/17/2013 8:55:54 AM
I wonder what will happen if I don't update those settings
6/18/2013 7:01:48 AM
this morning my phone said the settings have been changed....no clue what but everything works
6/18/2013 10:29:28 AM
I love straight talk I buy the cheapest possible ($40) because I really only care about using phones for calling and texting. I get the plan with 1000 minutes and 1000 texts (it comes with data but I forget how much). I pay $32 a month after taxes....I have never gone over 1000 minutes or 1000 texts yet, even if I did it would just make the month cycle over a little sooner to get it all refilled. I have had Nextel/sprint in the past and the coverage seems to be better. I do the month by month pay plan but it is drafted automatically from my bank account so I never have to deal with any billing stuff.
6/25/2013 6:57:03 PM
anyone on st with at&t sim notice a decrease in service area? my n4 has been on edge since about mid day, when i usually get full bar hspa+ where im at.
7/3/2013 3:50:34 PM
service seems back to normal speed conditions, dont know what happened last week. not sure if it was because i was at the end of my month, cause i just had to refill on the 6th. but i had only used about 1.2 gigs last month.
7/8/2013 2:24:32 PM
Okay so I got rid of my AT&T straight talk. Can I resell the sim card to someone, or is it done?
8/22/2013 10:20:11 AM
AT&T SIM supporting 4G LTE is now $12 ($7 + $5 shipping if not bundling with a plan): http://www.straighttalkbyop.com/can't decide if i should pick one up, even though i'm not sure whether i'll wait for RW to come out with new phones or just pick up a decent phone from CL and go with ST's $45 unlimited plan...if the latter, suggestions on a decent AT&T-compatible 4G phone to look for? i'm tired of paying $80/month to VZW
9/13/2013 9:20:04 AM
^nexus 4 for $199 from google.com/nexus
9/13/2013 11:07:51 AM
i had totally forgotten about the N4 what's the expected price of the N5? $300? maybe i'll just wait for the N5 and hope ST still has LTE-enabled AT&T SIMs in stock...or that RW's phones don't suck[Edited on September 13, 2013 at 1:18 PM. Reason : thanks for the suggestion, i totally forgot about it]
9/13/2013 1:17:19 PM
well, you can always get a lumia 900 for $140 with LTE support my mom loves hers
9/13/2013 1:18:43 PM
oh, i was wrong...it's actually only ~$7.50 after tax if you select overnight shipping went ahead and ordered onethe nexus 4 can be used on any GSM network (AT&T/TMO), right?[Edited on September 13, 2013 at 1:42 PM. Reason : .]
9/13/2013 1:34:52 PM
Nexus 4 does not use LTE, it is 4g capable... But that's if you count hspa+ as 4g... Just wanted to clarify that from above.
9/13/2013 2:32:49 PM
Anyone having trouble ordering one? I am getting an error with my city/state/zip code verification. I want to get one just to have. Anyways, I think the nexus 4 is the best deal you can get right now on ST. Unless you want to wait until the next nexus, which hopefully will support lte.
9/13/2013 5:56:41 PM
I bought a micro and normal sim even though I have an ATT sim already, it just doesn't support LTE. note 3/mega/nexus5 is my next phone. was leaning to blackberry but the enhanced security has been compromised
9/14/2013 9:55:55 AM

I topped up for a LONG time when I came across the 3months for $95 deal, and put a few more on for 3/$100.
9/26/2013 12:33:26 AM
^ where do you usually find them? an amazon seller?
9/26/2013 8:27:46 AM
So I am considering making the switch since ST has ATT sims available currently. I think I am going to buy 2 sims today (one for me and one for my wife) regardless while we decide what we want to do. We are currently on a super cheap verizon unlimited plan, but her phone is dying and mine - while operable - is over 3 years old. So, all signs are pointing to new phones for both of us soon which is always a good time to re-evaluate.Having never used Straight Talk, are there any limitations to the ATT network access via this sim and ST versus simply being an ATT customer? I was planning to buy out-of-contract phones to keep our Verizon unlimited, but with ATT on ST I'm considering a switch...Also, do nearly all phones use micro sims these days? Or should I buy the regular sim just to be safe (since we don't know what phones we would get yet if we switch to ST) and then I always have the option to cut it down if I need?[Edited on October 1, 2013 at 8:22 AM. 10/1/2013 8:18:48 AM
most new ones are using nano sims, actuallyi think a normal one can be cut down to any size though
10/1/2013 8:23:43 AM
i've been with ST for less than a month, but i have nothing to complain about specific to ST...GSM doesn't penetrate buildings as well as CDMA, but that's the only major difference i've noticed (and i went from a 4G LTE VZW phone to an AT&T HSPA+, which is supposedly slower)i'd say the biggest disadvantage is virtually non-existent customer and tech support, with the exception of number porting and purchasing more airtime...but i never called verizon, either, so hopefully it won't matterthe second biggest disadvantage is the rumored data cutoffs and potential for ST to close your account - without notifying you - for using too much data...not sure how often that happens, or if it actually happens, but that's the rumorthe third disadvantage (or so i've read) is that MVNO customers don't get access to the network as quickly as "real" customers in the case of an outage (ie. second-tier service for second-tier customers)outside of those things, you SHOULDN'T see any limitations in service during day-to-day useand yeah, i think nano sims are in most of the newer phones, though my N4 uses a micro...i don't know about full-sized sims being cut to nano, but micros definitely can...and they sell adapters that let you use a nano in a micro device
10/1/2013 8:31:11 AM
thanks for all the input. Looks like I might actually be better going with the Micro. I just looked at a few phones we could consider getting if we made the switch and it seems like they all at least use a micro. As far as the data. I typically use 2-2.5 GB when I looked at my past few months' worth of usage and I've been traveling a lot so I feel like I am using more than normal so I feel pretty comfortable their limits wouldn't affect me.[Edited on October 1, 2013 at 9:18 AM. I went ahead and ordered 2 ATT compatible micro sims for $15 total from Walmart. No one has the "nano" sims for ST that I saw and I glanced at a few phones and the seem to use the micro. If we don't end up using them, oh well - I could probably resell them.I know the Nexus 5 may have a nano, so hopefully the one coming from Walmart is a true micro and not a standard cut down to a micro though (that thought just crossed my mind knowing Walmart). [Edited on October 1, 2013 at 9:28 AM. Reason : ]
10/1/2013 9:21:21 AM
you can always cut it down to a nano if needed.
10/3/2013 10:48:26 PM
^^I have a micro to nano cutter if you need to use it
