went there last night with the moms.

had a craving for pho so I got that (yeah, yeah viet dish) and it was very good. not much meat in it and it was in big slices so it was kind of hard to eat with chopsticks.

got the tom kha (cocunut) soup for appetizer (thai dish?) and it was the best thing we had. also got a ginger salad on the side (japanese?) and was not impressed by it - no flavor and the plate they served it on was more about decoration and so eating it without the lettuce sliding off the edges was a bit annoying.

mom had the basil beef, which was pretty good - reminded me more of a chinese pepper steak dish but a little thicker with more spice.

loved the atmosphere.

overall 6/10 but for an asian restaurant probably a 7.5/10

She says "silence is complicity", but also says "no one can tell you where, when, and how to tell your story."

If she wants Van the beast to be held accountable, why doesn't she herself go to the authorities? Someone has to light the spark, and then others will hopefully follow suit and complain to the authorities as well. Why doesn't she do it herself?

We hear so many times "rapists and sexual abusers get away with their crimes", but there are millions of cases where the victims don't come forward for fear of losing a job or respect in society. While I am not minimizing their legitimate fears, unless a victim reports the abuse, the abuser will definitely get away with their crime, and keep doing it to others.

It is a shitty situation overall... no easy solutions I guess.

Opinion on publicly disclosed fact is protected speech right up front. Opinion on undisclosed fact is potentially actionable if not true. Truth is always protected. If a service industry working being isn't susceptible to a crappy SLAPP suit, I don't know who is. NC doesn't have an anti-SLAPP law and it really needs one.

Sucks, because Brewery Bhavana was one of our favorite restaurants, it was delicious, had a reservation that got cancelled because of Covid.
