The highlight to me was how surprisingly good Daniel Graig was at doing American accents. Everything else was forgettable.

I like Kenan peeking in the mirror.

However, the replacement for the Swedish Chef being the DANE COOK had me rolling.

She's been barely present, but tonight there wasn't anything. Granted, even Bayer only got a bit part, but to not be on camera at all is pretty rough.

So SNL is basically ripping off Jim Norton characters now? Is this what it's come to?

It was a really, really good Saturday night cover singer at any shitty bar in America.

As good as it was objectively, it was painfully out of place on a comedy show.

Just like adam sandler doing his bruce springsteen impersonation, right?

Or jimmy fallon during his weekend update bits singing songs

A parody song is much different than a sketch composed of twenty second bits of karaoke.

Sandler did a sketch of the boss's video where he pulled courtney cox up on stage and sang the original words

I mean bruno mars only sang parts of the songs and impersonated mannerisms and other adlibs the performers use

I was unaware of this Springsteen bit.

It is also not funny.

All I'm saying is that I really liked his monologue, and it was a good example of how you can use someone's talent in a comedic context and have it work well. A shoehorned karaoke sketch is the opposite of that.

In other news, I didn't post about how Christina Applegate was unexpectedly fantastic.

I'm now reading that the mountain pass sketch was supposed to be cut, but Louis insisted that it stay, just for the sake of watching something not work...which is to say he "Louie"-d it.

so "Australian Screen Legends" is getting universally panned and I have no idea why

I guess I'm just a sucker for silliness/Australian accents?

A lot of the criticism I've seen is related to Kate McKinnon's Australian accent. Who gives a shit?
