Go for the max amount of $$ you can! We had a juvenile break into our house and steal some electronics and we got $ back for everything that wasn’t recovered. Concerning Insurance Companies, here is what happened to us:After the house got broken into we called State Farm and asked them to mail us the forms for filing a claim. Before we got a chance to actually file a claim almost all of our stuff was recovered. Despite the fact that we didn’t file a claim, reporting the break-in is considered a claim (we didn’t know this) and our insurance was dropped. It was dropped because 2 years prior there was a liability claim for a few thousand. In State Farms eyes, this was two claims in a short period of time. We were not able to be insured by any major insurance company after this and ended up having to get high risk insurance through the State which did not include liability insurance. All because a juvenile decided to break into our house….Side note…I hope none of you ever have to deal with juvenile court. Even if you are the victim, the juvenile will ALWAYS be treated like they are the victim!
