I wanted to mix it up from boat shoes so I got these Sperry's recently. Really comfortable and they go with pretty much anything casual to a polo or button up

^^ I knew you would... lets face it, your fashion preferences for guys is basically "how can we make this guy look as white as possible, aka, the "cool" fraternity guy from 1980s movies."

^ those I like... INFINITELY better than god damn boat shoes, I would actually buy those

"ol, do tell why your fire burns hot with hate for chinos.

like true chinos, the heavier twill more casual than dress khakis or all khaki/slack/dress type pants?"

all types. well, slacks are fine. certain materials though.

the true chinos i have a very keen hatred for.

i've never found a pair that fit right.
i hate the way that they hit the shoe, at the bottom.
i hate the way that the material behaves when it touches the shoe or leg when walking.
i hate the way the material feels on my calves.
i hate the way the pockets feel on my thighs. i dont know what it is about khakis or chinos that exacerbates the way the pockets feel against me. (i also have an irrational hatred of having things in my pockets. it fucking creeps me out to have unnecessary things on me.)
i hate pants with buttons on the back pockets.
the belt loops look fucking stupid on most of them.
i've tried, literally hundreds of styles/cuts/brands, and not a single one of them feels ok when i sit down.
i've never found a pair that looks ok on me.
i hate the way they look with shoes.
i hate the way they look with socks.
i hate how they feel with your shirt tucked into them.

i could keep going.

I prefer the classic distressed polo and jeans look for summer, as worn here by Jerry Seinfeld

As has been stated before, I loathe wearing shoes. I don't like for my feet to sweat, and its so fucking hot down here, that I can get away with wearing sandals (and even really nice sandals when I have to step it up for the occasion) 99% of the time. But at some point, you have to grow up and wear shoes. My gf's sister got me these for my bday last year, and I really like them...after hating them initially:

I've always been a big Sperry's hater...but these are Sanuk brand of boat shoes. They're really light and flexible.

I've tried the driving mocs, Toms, and Cole Haans that have already been posted. They look fine and all, not hating on anyone else, but I just feel like a big vagina when I wear them. The ones I posted above are the only ones I can tolerate wearing (although I like the first pair of shoes Slave posted. I might try to find those somewhere).

I'm currently wearing JCrew Driving mocs with pincord shorts at work today. To my defense I'm outside for meetings to discuss construction plans.

its not like those would look bad with a nice 3-piece suit that matched them

plus i could only find two pairs of shoes that cost more, and they were either made of silver or had diamonds all over them, so that would ruin the gag
