Lets kick the Canes out and move NCFC indoors.
12/6/2016 3:31:57 PM
I probably go to more games now
12/6/2016 5:17:38 PM
This team should represent the soul of triangle.
12/6/2016 5:26:40 PM
I'm stoked about this. I would definitely go to games. And would now have a reason to watch MLS.[Edited on December 6, 2016 at 5:52 PM. Reason : But I did like the name Railhawks]
12/6/2016 5:51:50 PM
I am excited but I wish there was some way they could stay in cary. With the loss of the ncaa championships and railhawks, I don't know what WakeMed soccer Park would host.
12/7/2016 6:19:15 AM
In that downtown graphic, is the road running left to right at the very bottom of the page I-40?If so, that would put the stadium directly on top of my office building
12/7/2016 7:06:43 AM
Should be MLK/Western Blvd
12/7/2016 7:29:42 AM
Yeah, that's still a good mile or so north of I-40
12/7/2016 9:19:57 AM
I'll be able to walk to games. Pumped for this. Should really revitalize that entire (Maywood/Caraleigh/South Park) area. Wish it was Raleigh FC. I feel like we should get a team since Charlotte won't share the Bobcats Hornets
12/7/2016 9:27:29 AM
Yes, should be RALEIGH FC. It doesn't represent South Carolina.
12/7/2016 10:10:16 AM
They don't want to alienate Durham and Chapel Hill by calling it Raleigh. I think I'd prefer NCFC over Triangle FC.[Edited on December 7, 2016 at 12:01 PM. Reason : .]
12/7/2016 12:01:25 PM
This would be perfect for that bit of land near the Prison that was DDix...Too bad that got signed off already.
12/7/2016 12:46:37 PM
Not sure a soccer stadium would fit in the indoor arena footprint used for the plan on the previous page. Obviously that plan is pretty nebulous, just something to mull over.
12/7/2016 7:11:51 PM
NCSC
12/7/2016 7:27:54 PM
I always figured they could find some agreement to use The Carter, but I'm guessing that it doesn't have a good enough concessions setup and it's too big.
12/7/2016 8:08:23 PM
^I think MLS is requiring all expansions to have soccer specific stadiums.
12/7/2016 10:24:08 PM
12/8/2016 9:25:15 AM
^^ as they should. It creates such a better atmosphere.Fwiw, MLS here is still quite a longshot. Will be up against the likes of Tampa, Austin, San Antonio, Cincy and Phoenix for essentially two spots.
12/8/2016 9:44:59 AM
Feel like one of San Antonio and Austin should be a lock. But both getting it seems kinda stupid if youre trying to grow the sport.
12/8/2016 10:03:24 AM
Tampa and Phoenix would likely have higher attendance and more appeal to the area...Yeah...this plan sucks, we're gonna be stuck with the bill. #HB2

New Home Kits. sorry for the big file size. I am not smart enough to fix this.[Edited on December 13, 2016 at 9:54 PM. Reason : ]
12/13/2016 9:53:39 PM
Very meh. I am completely underwhelmed. They went the safe conservative route and there is almost no creativity involved with this design. The orange, while plain, at least stood out due to the color. This almost solid blue color is bleh in the extreme.

2017 U.S. Open Cup Tournament resumes this week. North Carolina FC seems to be continuing the Open Cup success they had as the RailHawks. NCFC/Railhawks are 6-6 vs MLS teams in the Open Cup, and we host the Dynamo on Wednesday. If we win, we will move on to the round of 16.Round 4: (Home) 6/14 7:30pm vs Houston Dynamo Round 3: 4-1 win vs Charlotte IndependenceRound 2: 6-1 win vs Carolina DynamoRound 1: BYE
6/11/2017 10:06:43 AM
do they realize that looks almost identical to the philadelphia unions colors
6/11/2017 11:56:32 AM
idk. You should ask them.
6/12/2017 9:47:40 AM
Lost 2-0 to the worst team in NASL. Previously winless Indy 11.
6/17/2017 9:30:21 PM
Went to the dynamo game and that probably effected them. It went into extra time and there was a weather delay. Don't think it was over until around midnight
6/18/2017 8:32:37 AM
Anyone going to the game against Swansea?
6/19/2017 11:16:26 AM
^ I'm going. There's a rally tomorrow at City Market for the MLS push. Some MLS dude is gonna be there and there's an open bar.http://www.northcarolinafc.com/news/2017/07/18/youre-invited-to-the-919tomls-rally
7/18/2017 2:34:06 PM
Do any stores in Raleigh sell NCFC gear?Soccer post in Cary has a few items.
7/18/2017 5:05:14 PM
7/19/2017 11:11:00 AM
I'd be able to walk to every game
7/19/2017 11:13:44 AM
That would be fucking amazing!
7/19/2017 11:19:35 AM
Never liked the Archdale building

Until the next round. Next year.
11/29/2017 12:35:58 PM
it requires developing state property, which requires support from the state, which doesn't existthere is no chance of this happening until the nc government changes
11/29/2017 12:54:50 PM
^ Which is what I don't understand. Raleigh desperately needs a professional team in downtown. It would bring in so much more business and I wouldn't be surprised if the stadium does sell out on a regular basis. Raleigh is a prime soccer market simply because there is very little competition for professional sports.
11/29/2017 1:09:31 PM
The General Assembly, not Cooper, holds all the power. They're run by idiots from places like Eden and Shelby and Albemarle that think soccer is gay.
11/29/2017 2:45:15 PM
So the plan is postponed infinitely?
