Anybody check out Copper on BBC America? It's a detective show set in Civil War-era New York City...the first episode was pretty solid.

I have a replay of Copper set to DVR tonight. Sad thing is U-Verse doesn't have BBCA-HD so i'll be watching in glorious 480p
8/22/2012 8:07:32 AM
Anyone know how many shows make up the season? Going to look at getting it on Amazon Season Pass...
8/22/2012 8:17:51 AM
10 episodes for Copper

Watched the Animal Practice pilot last night. When I see a "meh" pilot, I think back to when I thought Parks and Rec and Happy Endings started off weak and now they are my favorite shows. But I don't know if this one has the ability to get better...but we'll see. At the very least, I love animals and this show has tons of them (the monkey is the shit). And the main chick is pretty hot.
8/23/2012 9:55:06 AM
wayyy too much monkey. how long can they rely on that crutch?
8/23/2012 10:09:42 AM
The Outlaw Country pilot is pretty fucking good so far...definitely worth checking out if you like Justified.

Is this the FX burn off?[Edited on August 28, 2012 at 11:14 PM. Reason : A]
8/28/2012 11:10:14 PM
yeah, I'm kind of pissed that there aren't more episodes but at the same time I don't really have time to take on any new shows.

BTTT as Hulu has several pilot previews available. Animal Practice: It was alright. Nothing special yet, but it was okay.Revolution: Pretty interesting as well. Wasn't blown away, but it had some cool points. Will continue. The Mindy Project: Not bad. Kinda funny. Might give it a shot. The New Normal: Have not watched yet.Ben & Kate: Have not watched yet.Anybody else seen a pilot to comment on?

BTTT, any shows people are planning to catch that are new or coming back this week? Here is a list of shows that are new or returning this week.Monday: Bones, The Mob Doctor, RevolutionWednesday: SurvivorThursday: Parks & Rec, Up All Night, The OfficeNot too many premieres this week, but a few. I am just happy to have Parenthood back. The wife and I really enjoy that one.
9/17/2012 7:54:56 PM
Bones!
9/17/2012 8:03:46 PM
The Mob Doctor looks unspeakably awful. I'm going to try to keep up with Parenthood this season, but Tuesdays are busy so who knows.

An exhaustive list of "upcoming" shows I am tracking on Sidereel:1600 Penn666 Park AvenueAnimal PracticeBen/KateCultFamily ToolsFriend MeGo OnHow To Live With Your ParentsInfamousLast ResortNext CallerLast ResortParade's EndPartnersRevolutionSave MeThe FollowingThe Goodwin GamesThe NeighborsThe New NormalVegasVillage PeopleZero HourWith the exception of Vegas, I am pretty much unenthused about all of these shows, but I will watch them all at least once. Some of these shows are "mid-season" programs, but I listed them here because networks don't even seem to have clear seasons anymore (which makes all of this much less fun--and more like a chore--for us TV fans).
9/17/2012 8:38:48 PM
LAST RESORT FTW
9/17/2012 8:41:05 PM
Forgot to mention that Last Resort is on advance preview from Hulu now until it premieres on the 27th. Just watched it and kinda Liked it. Suspending disbelief on certain factors, but I will most likely be catching this show once it debuts.
9/17/2012 9:05:31 PM
Last Resort is the only new show that even remotely interests me and I can't believe they'll have enough to go on to keep it interesting.
9/18/2012 10:10:32 AM
I'll watch anything with Andre Braugher, Men of a Certain Age nonwithstanding.
9/18/2012 10:13:33 AM
i liked Last Resort when it was called Down Periscope so it can only get better as a serious abc drama.
9/18/2012 11:06:02 AM
Just finished the pilot of Last Resort. I really enjoyed it.
9/18/2012 11:10:54 AM
so did anyone else watch Vegas on CBS last night?Dennis QuaidJason O'MaraCarrie-Anne MossMichael Chiklislooks like it's going to be typical CBS fare. Period era police procedural with some underlying stories developing throughout. I don't watch very many shows on CBS, they usually tire on me after awhile with Person of Interest being the only one I really follow weekly. But I enjoyed this one and the cast, though Michael Chiklis feels extremely miscast. Even with a character like Vic Mackey under his belt he just does not come across as an imposing villain in this role.
9/26/2012 9:01:57 AM
Ben & Katei liked it, but it felt too much like Bent the midseason burnoff series that I really really liked. Even the little girl was a lesser version of Joey King. I kept wanting Amanda Peet and David Walton to bust through the door the entire time.
9/27/2012 10:36:39 AM
Bent was quality.
9/27/2012 12:21:09 PM
Ben & Kate was pleasant enough, but I didn't find it particularly funny. Vegas was pretty meh, the CBS execs said going forward it would be less of a procedural but we'll see what happens.
9/27/2012 3:21:06 PM
i am really putting my hopes in Last Resort tonight, other than that there isn't a "new" show i'm really hanging my hat on this fall season
9/27/2012 3:41:14 PM
I thought the Last Resort pilot was pretty compelling...way, way better than Revolution. Of course it will probably bomb in the ratings.
9/27/2012 4:12:41 PM
Modern Family premiere was so bad I was getting angry.
9/27/2012 4:18:55 PM
really? i thoroughly enjoyed it.
9/27/2012 4:28:32 PM
So new shows that I am watching:The Mindy Project/The New Normal (I like these, but they are definitely not for everybody.)666 Park Avenue/Vegas (I am most likely going to stop watching these soon.)New shows that I'm no longer watching:Animal PracticeBen/KateGo OnLast ResortPartnersRevolutionThe NeighborsLast Resort was okay, but it's not my bag. Revolution was no good. And I don't have room for any more comedies since I'm still watching the very stale Office and How I Met Your Mother.New shows on my list yet to air:1600 PennCultFamily ToolsFriend MeHow To Live With Your ParentsInfamousNext CallerParade's EndSave MeThe FollowingThe Goodwin GamesVillage PeopleZero Hour

Yea I decided not to invest in Animal Practice as its going to get canned. Watched the pilot, but got too many shows I'm already watching. Also I bailed on Revenge as I don't care enough to continue watching it either. I am still watching Revolution (okay) and Last Resort (really enjoying). So far that is all I have bagged for new shows that I'm sticking with.
10/5/2012 2:45:05 PM
anybody watching elementary? i dvr'd the pilot but have yet to watch it
10/5/2012 4:24:06 PM
^it's a pretty standard CBS procedural where a dude with exceptional powers of observation solves crimes by staring at things, but Johnny Lee Miller is really good in it.
10/5/2012 4:40:35 PM
only three new shows I caught were revolution, last resort and 666 park avenuerevolution prolly wont make it past teh next episode, enjoying 66 park ave and last resort though[Edited on October 5, 2012 at 4:45 PM. Reason : the pilot for animal practice was just awful]also copper sounds intriguing. I love period pieces but hate cop shows so I'm on the fence[Edited on October 5, 2012 at 4:46 PM. Reason : .]
10/5/2012 4:44:47 PM
well Animal Practice was canceled today. a show that wasn't very good, but i liked quite a bit. It will now be replaced by a worse show, Whitney.
10/18/2012 3:58:06 PM
I really kinda enjoying Arrow.
10/18/2012 5:09:20 PM
the ratings are strong. i need to check it out
10/18/2012 5:19:03 PM
Damn it NBC, why replace Animal Practice with Whitney instead of Community?
10/18/2012 6:49:46 PM
^^^Me, too!
10/18/2012 7:53:48 PM
More than likely Community will replace Up All Night when it gets canned soon.
