was anyone else waiting for "when great power comes great responsibility" line?

It's so classic. Spiderman series is like explaining this quote.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I liked the first 2 with Tobey better. (The third was an abomination.) Don't get me wrong, this one wasn't bad by any stretch. I just thought that the storytelling and exposition was a little better. The fight choreography in this movie was also much more complex.

The two are just different. I like Garfield as Parker better than Maguire. I'm also a big fan of Emma Stone as Gwen (Never really liked how they portrayed MJ in the other films.) But they're very different approaches to the story. I can't tell if I liked them dancing around the "with great power comes great responsibility" line. I understand them wanting to distance themselves from the other films but it seemed like they were trying to convey the same message without saying the exact words and it was a little awkward. I'd say (imho) that this film is the second best Spidey film. SM2 > TASM(2012) > SM > TASM(1977) > SM3

I mean, they never actually say that line in the comics anyway, but probably should've figured that people would get super hung up on it.

Wasn't it on the last scarlet spider...before they went off in different direction.

So, is this http://www.toplessrobot.com/2012/07/tr_reviewcomparison_the_amazingly_unnecessary_spid.php fairly accurate?I didn't plan on seeing this one because it was just another origin story. Seriously it's Spiderman. Who needs an origin story? Anyway the adds brought me closer to being on the fence but that review basically places me right back in the wait for it to come out on TV camp.I will say this, glad to see they got rid of the great power/responsibility line. It was so overplayed in the other movies that I never want to hear that phrase again. It reached the OK, I GET IT level of saturation. That said, the "line" they replaced it with sounds just plain terrible. The skateboard thing does sound like it would place Peter well outside the realm of nerd, but maybe they were going for a different non-nerdy Peter in this one?[Edited on July 10, 2012 at 1:22 PM. ^^^ they most definitely say that line in the comic books..[Edited on July 10, 2012 at 8:25 PM. Reason : but it's cool to declare things that aren't true at all]

science nerd > skater nerd

I thought it was pretty good. I like the new Parker better than Tobey Maguire and I like Emma Stone more than Kirsten Dunst. Still the Lizard was SO lame, I didn't give a fuck about that guy. Willem DaFoe was pretty awesome, even though the goblin costume was horrible.Still kind of prefer the first two with Maguire, mostly for story and humor.

Saw it last night. I like it. This movie should be seen in 3D. The visual effect is the main difference from the previous ones.
