3/11/2012 12:22:08 PM

3/11/2012 12:23:10 PM
riot in chapel hill if we don't make it. burn that shithole down
3/11/2012 12:23:15 PM
^^ math fail
3/11/2012 12:24:02 PM
not when we're in a play-in game, dipshit
3/11/2012 12:24:42 PM
We are not playing the the play in game, dipshit.
3/11/2012 12:25:40 PM
If Calvin stays hot, CJW plays his best game, Alex johnson continues to hit 3s, Zo continues to be a monster, Wood shoots 60% from 3, Howell doesnt get in foul trouble, Painter discovers his jump shot, and we hit all our free throws, I think we can beat anybody and win it all.
3/11/2012 12:26:42 PM
Are we going to have our home games in reynolds or PNC? I loved the marist game in reynolds and we should try to recreate that atmosphere.[Edited on March 11, 2012 at 12:28 PM. Reason : see you in NYC]
3/11/2012 12:28:03 PM
I give it 50/50 we're in the play in. Didn't Clemson have to go through one once upon a time?
3/11/2012 12:33:24 PM
^^^Our best game is enough to compete with most teams in the country, but let's be realistic. We played inspired ball yesterday but still lost to Carolina without Henson.[Edited on March 11, 2012 at 12:34 PM. Reason : .]
3/11/2012 12:34:29 PM
^ and we played without our best player for nearly a quarter of the game
3/11/2012 12:37:41 PM
With fair officials we win that game by 10+Henson was out but he is their defensive anchor. Leslie went off on his replacement but Leslie actually had a BETTER game against Henson. I don't see Henson making that big of a difference in that game as the refs did. Howell and Leslie basically missed half of the game between the two of them from foul trouble. Williams missed at least 10 minutes from foul trouble. All of those extra minutes for painter cost us about 10 points indirectly. If you add the 10 points officials caused us directly to the 10 points they cost us indirectly then we would have won by18 points. I know the game isn't played in a vacuum but that was the most slanted officiating ever in an NC State game. Usually the worst games have about 2 or3 bad calls go the other way.
3/11/2012 12:38:42 PM
That's part of the "inspiring" - we didn't fold after losing Leslie. Henson (particularly when you couple him with Zeller) is the game changer for them. We don't get nearly as many rebounds or drives with him in the game.Edit - I know we're improving but we were obliterated by them in Chapel Hill, played leagues better and still lost big at home, and THE REFS WILL NEVER LET US WIN ETC. I wish our starting five could stay in the game for 40 minutes; foul trouble is part of the game and is magnified by our pathetic bench. Aside from their starters, Carolina usually receives one or more big contributions from random bench bitch N. This is also the primary reason we would lose to Syracuse 9 times out of 10; they have the best depth in the country.[Edited on March 11, 2012 at 12:48 PM. Reason : ok]

3/11/2012 12:50:44 PM
I will take a one seed in the NIT and then next year a VERY HIGH seed in the NCAA over being on the bubble.
3/11/2012 12:54:32 PM
What? You can get a #1 seed in the NIT and be on the bubble
3/11/2012 12:59:10 PM
We are not playing the the play in game, dipshit.[Edited on March 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Reason : ]
3/11/2012 1:00:21 PM
^you do realize there are 4 "play-in games" now, right?
3/11/2012 1:01:31 PM
He was quoting someone else. The face palm means he's not the retard.
3/11/2012 1:03:44 PM
How is UVA a 10 seed supposedly and us a 12/13. Our resume is better!
3/11/2012 1:13:33 PM
I will never understand how UVA is a lock and will get a better seed. Ridiculous
3/11/2012 1:17:07 PM
conspiracy against state, basically
3/11/2012 1:19:30 PM
RPI isnt NEARLY close to being the only thing you should look at.SOS yes, but they have stated numerous times that RPI alone doesnt mean much. And we will NOT be in a play-in game.thats not remotely close to what the definition of last 4 in is.
3/11/2012 1:37:01 PM
The selection committees last four in play 65-68 in the play-in games. ESPN's last four in won't be the same as the committees but if it is, then yes, we will be in a play-in game.
3/11/2012 1:38:41 PM
^^You realize Clemson played in it last year?
3/11/2012 1:40:44 PM
St bonaventure looks to steal a spot and almost guarantee us a play in game
3/11/2012 1:41:58 PM
3/11/2012 1:47:29 PM
i think he means ESPN's definition of last 4 in, not the committee's definition. could be wrong, though
3/11/2012 1:49:07 PM
Except that the last 4 in in espns definition is the last 4 at large teams so they are basically the same exact thing
3/11/2012 1:52:50 PM
They are exactly the same thing
3/11/2012 1:54:06 PM
so ESPN now knows exactly what the committee will do? it;s a projection of what ESPN thinks is the last 4 teams in, not of what the committee actually says are the last 4 in. Who the fuck knows, the committee could already have decided that we're in, and we're a 3 seed. ESPN is saying, though, that we just made it in with our play. there's a diff, dude
3/11/2012 1:55:55 PM
Stupid Xavier.
3/11/2012 1:57:54 PM
We all know that what the committee does is not what any of these projections are. If you look at the resumes though to think its not likely that we are in a play in game is just foolish especially if st bonaventure wins. Sure it's possible we are the fifth to last team in but not likely.
3/11/2012 1:58:43 PM
I would think S Bon getting in would push us out of a play in maye? Or help at least. Am I reading that situation wrong?
3/11/2012 2:00:07 PM
No. St bona would be an auto qualifier who couldn't play in the non-16 seed first four games[Edited on March 11, 2012 at 2:05 PM. Reason : Clarification, originally didn't specify non16 seed]
3/11/2012 2:01:51 PM
the only way St Bon is getting in is if they win. Do they put conference champs in the non-16 play-in games?
3/11/2012 2:02:40 PM
espn just said st boner would likely knock off drexel and be in last 4 in[Edited on March 11, 2012 at 2:12 PM. Reason : if they win]
3/11/2012 2:03:28 PM
I wasn't aware that auto qualifiers couldn't play in the first four. I always sort of thought that everyone calls them play in games but they aren't literally play in games.
3/11/2012 2:03:49 PM
Sorry I meant only the non16 seed playin games. From the official NCAA rules for selection / seeding process
3/11/2012 2:04:05 PM
3/11/2012 2:08:37 PM
Agreed which is why I hope we win it if we get in. I think for the experience I'd take a NIT run over a loss in a play in game. I know it counts as making the tourney but not really in most peoples minds.
3/11/2012 2:20:25 PM
Here comes Xavier.
3/11/2012 2:23:07 PM
Go Xavier GO Vandy GO FSU!!!!GTHC
3/11/2012 2:25:55 PM
Please to W Xavier.
3/11/2012 2:26:40 PM
Xavier just can't get closer than 5. Doesn't bode well.
3/11/2012 2:51:33 PM
Thinking positive!GO musketeersand looks over.guess at least it adds another tourney team we beat. [Edited on March 11, 2012 at 3:06 PM. Reason : e]
3/11/2012 2:55:55 PM
St Bon is gonna fuck us real bad. I will go on a killing spree if we're first out
3/11/2012 3:08:22 PM
Fuck
3/11/2012 3:12:36 PM
dammit, 6pm can't get here fast enough.
