Just figured I'd give a quick bump. Due to a number of referrals (probably some of you folks -- thanks to those that signed up!) I've gotten four months of free razors! All I've paid is $3 for the first pack of razors + shipping. They have monthly competitions now too... people submit pictures of themselves shaving and the best ones receive a prize. Last month they had stainless steel flasks they were sending out and this month it is some kind of bottle opener thing. If anyone decides to sign up, please use my referral link:http://www.dollarshaveclub.com/ref/index/r/2zf/1a7zlm5/[Edited on August 7, 2012 at 5:37 PM. I've been using them for a few months now. No complaints. The blades are as good as any Mach or Fusion blades. 4 cartridges per month is plenty as long as you don't have course hair or shave every day.One thing I'd like to see is something similar to the Fusion blades where they have a single blade on the back for trimming sideburns or under your nose or other tight spaces.

^Glad to see you finally got your razors, they were backordered quite a bit. If you signed up with my referral, thanks, I appreciate the free razors it got me!

Interesting that you should bump this topic, I just got a random free tshirt in the mail from Dollar Shave Club with a card saying "HEY! YOU'RE AWESOME! HERE IS A TSHIRT!"

Anybody still using this? I'm contemplating it after my last past of razors from Sam's Club is used up.I normally use one of those vibrating Fusion razors which I think does a pretty good job. I get a nick every now and then, but it's usually because the razor is getting pretty dull or I've let my facial hair grow out too long. That being said...razors are just so damn expensive.

I get like maybe 3-4 really nice shaves (if that) out of a Gillete Mach 3 cartridgeI mean, I can use 'em for longer than that, but the shaves take progressively longer and irritate my skin progressively moreso lately I've just been exclusively using Gillette Good News Plus...I can get 12 of 'em for like $7 (probably much less, if I bought online), and I get two really spiffy, easy, nice, close shaves out of each. I mean, I ain't shaving for $1 a month, but I'm shaving for something like $8-10 a month, and I'm getting a quick, close shave every time.Maybe some people's facial hair growth makes it possible for them to shave for $1/month. Alas, mine doesn't, I don't think.[Edited on March 6, 2014 at 8:53 PM. Reason : also, I love a sharp virgin razor, how fast it gets the job done]

Yeah I just use Mach 3s...they're quite cheap now, and get the job done well, plus I can use a single blade for 2+ weeks.Plus as http://lifehacker.com/5903771/forget-dollar-shave-clubbuy-the-same-high-quality-razors-for-a-third-of-the-price points out (even though prices are higher), you can get the same blades for cheaper direct from the supplier.Reviews of these DSC blades don't seem to be that positive versus the Mach 3 though: http://www.dorcousa.com/combo-packs-men/]

^thanks!I went to the website to try out the blade + 10pack for $15, and then after shipping it was going to be about $20.50If you have amazon prime it's only $19.99 for the same thing, Dorco SXA Blade + 10pack of the 6-bladed razorsonly 50 cents difference, but this thread is about saving money, right? Seeing this thread just made me realize that I've only switched my DE blade once since moving into this house. We've been busy so I just never thought about it. I'm only invested $0.20 in three and half months of shaving 5-6 days a week and the second blade is still good to go. Amazing what just wiping your blade off on a towel and using a shaving cream that doesn't leave residue does for you.

^ Wow! For all my talk about getting blades cheaper, signing up for a month or two for DSC is worth it to try about the blades, as long as there aren't additional start up costs..^^ Yeah, search for coupon codes for Docro's site though...I know they use them from time to time

I'm still using Dollar Shave Club -- I have a beard in the winter though so I only shave my neck. I switched to getting razors every other month. So I will get a stockpile of razors during the winter months and go through said stockpile in the summer months. So I guess I'm down to getting 5 new razor cartridges for $1.50 a month.I've got pretty thick hair and no complaints whatsoever. There aren't any start up costs either, btw, you just sign up and you'll get the actual razor handle thing with your first shipment of cartridges. If you do sign up, I'd appreciate it if you used my referral link: http://shaved.by/IIYE

I stick with a Mach 3, I shave daily, and usually can use a blade 2-3 weeks.I always shave in the shower, and dry the blade afterwards. I also strop it on my hand every day before shaving..I wouldn't say that my facial hair is overly thick, or overly thin.

I go through 3-4 blades/year. MAN UP, PEOPLE.

yup, 2 contact lenses and a razor blade can last me 6 months if I have to.

^Never heard of it but I tried googling it too and a number of other sites say the same thing. I will try to remember it next time I shave.

AntecK7 does that with his blades and seems to be a fan of it
5/21/2014 10:12:41 AM
I've tried that with the Fusion blades; it does seem to make them acceptable for shaving again. I wouldn't say it re-sharpens them, but I can believe that it straightens out the blades, making a "dull" cartridge seem sharp again. they shave better than an old cartridge that hasn't been given the treatment for sure, if that's what you care about. I went safety razor and never looked back, but if you like the "multiple blades" stuff and don't want to pay 5 dollars for a new cartridge, the jeans trick is for you.

I gotta say i've used the Dorco 6 blades for a while, and there's been some mixed results. if i were an everyday shaver, this would be my go to razor. Very easy to keep yourself shaved very close. But im more of a 2-3x/week guy, and if I go 4 days w/out shaving, the stubble gets pretty long and the distance between each blade isn't large enough to properly accommodate this. I end up going back to the Mach 3 blades. All other parts of the razor are fine. It's just 6 blades in the same amount of space as 3 forces them to be right up flush against eachother and it can be painful if you let your facial hair grow out a bit between shaves.but like i said, if you are an every day guy, this works great. No issues at all. I also really like the single blade on back for sideburns

lol just got this months delivery and it had a Dollar Shave Club lapel pin included.

I'm two months in and I'm pretty satisfied so far.I went with the nicest blades (the Executive) to be safe. Started off a little rough with a couple nicks in each shave. But I think my skin is use to the blades now and its been smooth sailing for the past month. I'm getting four blades every two months. So one blade lasts me about two weeks. I shave about 2-3 times per week. So I'm getting a good 6 shaves out of each blade. If I didn't know I was getting new blades every two months, I'd probably try and squeeze 10 or more shaves out of each blade. Now that my shaves are getting easier, I might try and do that with this pack and start stockpiling blades.Either way...I'd definitely recommend.
