Stopped watching this show about two seasons ago when it just got retarded stupid.

Kinda like how The Office did.

Used to love both these shows.

They should have quit while they were ahead.

Definitely true, but it would be pretty difficult to do a "normal" 30 Rock episode live because of all the cutaways.

Also this season has been a major rebound from the previous two seasons, so if you stopped watching a while ago you might want to check it out during the summer when nothing else is on.

oh i quit this season.

i've turned on no less than three new episodes in the past month and had to turn them off 10-15 minutes in.

I LOLed at Liz continually freaking out about the wedding and the fact that Chris didn't pick up on her not liking the sweater.

In one of these threads someone pointed that Jack once said this about Kenneth "In five years, he'll either be president of NBC or I'll be dead by his hand". Guess that turned out to be true (although it's been more than five years).

or whatever the fuck they've been doing with him this whole time

did that conan scene look fake to anyone else? I don't know what the term is but looked like conan was green screened or whatever

Yeah that looked really weird. Maybe Conan couldn't make it to the set or something.

For a show that wasn't big on heartfelt moments, there were some legitimately sad and touching moments in the episode. The last part with Kenneth was awesome.

Fun fact: a large percentage of backgrounds on network TV shows are chroma-keyed.

I just found out Elaine Stritch (Jack's mom on the show) died over the summer. She was an incredible performer and seems like she was such a fun person to be around.

RIP

^^only watched it per your recommendation. realized pretty early on that it was just a big grab for the Peacock streaming service. there was basically no plot other than "hey it's covid" and "watch peacock".

Tracy had me rolling in laughter. Everything else was meh, but just him on his own makes the entire thing worth it.

The only part at all that made me laugh were the “I start a sentence and you finish it, Liz.”

Agreed. Just not everyone is born with discerning taste. 30 rock was one of my top shows when it aired. This was not at the same level of quality. The jokes were simple and obvious, lacking some of the original creativity and wit that made the show great.

there were plenty of great jokes/sight gags that elicited multiple laughs during the ep

they made a funny episode of television after a 7 year layoff and during a pandemic

given the circumstances, they killed it

Honestly man something is better than nothing. They could release another episode of breaking bad that was absolute crap and I’d still be happy something new came out
