8/12/2013 9:00:50 AM
It is held up in some union negotiations somewhere.
8/12/2013 5:52:31 PM
I have not had such horrible experiences with the mail as some of you and still use it, but I must stress to Jeepin4x4 in particular: Stop using USPS. For some reason your great grandad pissed off a mail-gypsy and your bloodline was forever cursed.Maybe it was a complicated curse that, like, skipped generations or something.
8/12/2013 6:06:17 PM
hahaha no shit. I would never use USPS again, but it's always the shipper's method, not mine. I sent my item in UPS and the guy got it in 2 days. He sends it back to me USPS and I finally received this last night..Accepted at USPS Origin Sort Facility August 13, 2013, 8:51 pm ROUND ROCK, TX 78665 Processed at USPS Origin Sort Facility August 13, 2013, 10:06 pm AUSTIN, TX 78710 Depart USPS Sort Facility August 14, 2013 AUSTIN, TX 78710 Scheduled Delivery Day:August 15, 2013 so it takes you 7 days to sort it but only one day to go from Austin to Charlotte. makes so much sense.
8/14/2013 11:12:35 AM
Hey um. USPS why does 2 day shipping take 6 business days?I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
8/14/2013 11:22:47 AM
I always use the click n ship labels and have not had a problem. Are you hand addressing these packages?
8/14/2013 11:23:48 AM
this package in particular should not have this problem. this is coming from a home business with priority shipping labels, boxes, insurance, and tracking. USPS is the worst, Jerry, the worst!
8/14/2013 11:27:30 AM
The insurance...any idea if it's black label or blue label? Black doesn't have to be signed for, blue does (based on value).I work for them. I know of an issue recently here, where someone used their scale, messed up on the weight, & also postage. We fixed it, but then it was hell dealing with the distribution centers, & the office it went to.
8/14/2013 12:05:33 PM
jeepin, you didn't have a shipment via UPS that was going through Georgia did you?
8/14/2013 12:09:03 PM
^everything i have shipped in the last month was through UPS and arrived safely within 3-4 days, so i am not sure.^^not sure, i don't think i'll have to sign for this one. insurance was only $50
8/14/2013 12:31:47 PM
8/14/2013 12:38:14 PM
jesus that sounds like a nightmare.
8/14/2013 12:43:07 PM
Yeah, that should just be regular insurance, unless there is signafure confirmation. But based off what you said, that isn't the case. I know where I work, we've added some things that are supposed to be able to update tracking faster, which I assume is supposed to help with avoiding errors. However, I know it isn't being used everywhere at this point.
8/14/2013 12:44:45 PM
when a package says "Electronic Shipping Info Received" does that basically mean that the shipper has printed out an official USPS shipping label? not necessarily that it's been picked up by or dropped off at the post office?
8/14/2013 12:55:43 PM
from my understanding, yes.
8/14/2013 1:53:42 PM
do you recognize your package?
8/14/2013 1:59:18 PM
I feel really bad but the moment I heard about the crash the first thing I thought about was that I hope my package en route wasn't on that plane
8/14/2013 2:03:30 PM
i completely missed that happening!
8/14/2013 2:07:03 PM
^5 More than likely, yes.
8/14/2013 2:22:48 PM
FedEx gets package to post office in 2 days. Package sits in post office <10 miles away for additional 2 days
11/14/2013 9:54:33 AM
yeah....its basically luck of the draw. From time to time i will run shipments (palletized and bulk) through fedex because a lane will be ungodly cheap with them for one reason or another. Its pretty rare, but basically the product doesn't leave the terminal until enough orders fill to make it worth it for them to throw it into a truck and deliver it. you can pay whatever accessorials you want to expedite the process but they guarantee nothing in the end. id assume thats their entire business model. its efficient as fuck for them, but can be very frustrating for customers.
11/14/2013 10:26:57 AM
BTTT since I live 30 miles from Roanoke. HOW IS MY PACKAGE SUPPOSED TO GET HERE TODAY IF YOU SENT IT TO CHATTANOOGA? I can't wait for it to go back through Roanoke.
4/16/2014 10:27:20 AM
whoops
4/16/2014 12:02:13 PM
there it is
4/16/2014 12:04:43 PM

4/17/2014 12:30:30 PM
this was one of two items i ordered from REI. this one shipped from Pennsylvania and is now lost in tennessee somewhere. the other shipped the same day from kent, WA and was delivered today. WAY TO GO USPS! One out of two ain't bad. .500 is a great average.oh also, that package is now more than 100 miles farther away from me than it was before it was shipped. Another great job by USPS. Waiting on this one to magically go from being Out for Delivery in Beaufort, SC to it's correct destination, my doorstep, in Charlotte, NC.
3/17/2015 12:08:23 PM
bahahahahahah
3/17/2015 3:44:52 PM
Priority 2-Day
3/17/2015 4:37:01 PM
more like Priority Not Today Amirite?
3/17/2015 4:51:09 PM
Media Mail rules and is by far the best shipping service on earth.
3/17/2015 6:57:17 PM
If you read closely, priority 2 or 3 day guarantees the package will not arrive early.
3/18/2015 1:34:33 PM
^^
3/18/2015 2:54:02 PM
I've been selling on ebay for years and never seen it enforced. if I'm being really egregious (like shipping something like a Playstation 4), I'll wrap it in newspaper and line the boxes with magazines so it looks like media if opened.
3/18/2015 3:03:45 PM
The educational requirement for media mail must be somewhat new. That didn't used to exist.
3/18/2015 5:14:28 PM
At least USPS is cheap. UPS and FEDEX are at least double the price.
3/19/2015 10:36:11 PM
I just had a package from Canada, shipped all the way back to Canada because USPS somehow couldn't find my address. But they can deliver junk mail on time every day.
3/19/2015 11:27:43 PM
Since all my bills are paid automatically, I'm tempted to go down there to the Post Office and pull a Kramer and just "cancel" mail delivery.
3/20/2015 1:39:12 PM
Paper mail is outdated, USPS has no place in the new world. EVERY thing that comes in the mail as paper can easily be sent in emails/online accounts (LOOKING AT YOU NC DMV).
3/20/2015 1:49:57 PM
Perhaps you're forgetting the millions of people who don't have computers/smartphones or internet access of any kind?
