He played at State from 1987-1990.
1/10/2012 8:06:43 AM
i'm confused, didn't we just hire a new S&C coach last year?
1/10/2012 9:35:17 AM
^ alejo is the new basketball s&c coach, if that's what you're thinking of
1/10/2012 11:12:49 AM
Alejo oversees the S&C for the entire athletic department, and also serves as the head of S&C for the basketball team. This guy is the new head of S&C for the football team.
1/10/2012 11:15:41 AM
Yeah, i thought he was hired as the overall S&C director, as well as the head b-ball S&C coach, or something like that.[Edited on January 10, 2012 at 11:16 AM. Reason : ^ah, i see, thanks.]

TIME TO BOAST BOAST BOAST
1/10/2012 12:33:12 PM
4 ACC schools in the too early 2012 Top 25? Ya got to be kidding me.Though, I didn't see the tarholes on that list... I wonder what IC has to say about that.[Edited on January 10, 2012 at 12:42 PM. Reason : 25]
1/10/2012 12:41:58 PM
2 FCS teams again... ugh.
1/10/2012 12:42:56 PM
oh yeh; what's our excuse for that this year?
1/10/2012 12:47:00 PM
1/10/2012 12:47:02 PM
pretty certain the U. South Bama game will count as D1 this year
1/10/2012 12:47:07 PM
not until 2013[Edited on January 10, 2012 at 12:51 PM. Reason : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Alabama_Jaguars_football#2013]

hope so. don't know though.fwiw, from wikipedia:
1/10/2012 12:52:08 PM
1/10/2012 12:52:20 PM
Is it possible to buy one of them out or are we stuck with them?
1/10/2012 12:57:42 PM
http://www.usajaguars.com/documents/2010/6/30/scheduling_timeline.pdfThey count like any other FBS team for us in 2012.
1/10/2012 12:58:32 PM
^thanks, I knew I had seen that somewhere but couldn't find it
1/10/2012 12:59:28 PM
1/10/2012 1:20:03 PM
^^^,^^ Under 2012, it says transitional FCS classification. Wouldn't that mean they count like an FCS team? We'd only be able to use one of USA and the Citadel for bowl eligibilty, but that better not be an issue we need to worry about next year.
1/10/2012 1:40:11 PM
1/10/2012 2:08:23 PM
so, will we be favored against Tennessee?]
1/10/2012 2:08:32 PM
Mark Schlabach has us as preseason #24 . With a win against the Vols, we could be actually ranked.http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7440553/college-football-way-too-early-2012-top-25
1/10/2012 2:14:55 PM
^^^ Unless I'm missing something, that doesn't really mean anything. FCS and FBS are both D-I^^ I didn't follow Tennessee much this year, but I would assume so. I bet Jaybee1200 would be the best person to tell us.^sweet post bro!
1/10/2012 2:16:28 PM
^^ ATTN USERS...[Edited on January 10, 2012 at 2:16 PM. Reason : .]
1/10/2012 2:16:34 PM
The Vols actually looked really good before Bray was injured. They easily handled Cincinnati who made us looked foolish. With him back, we'll be slight underdogs. ]
1/10/2012 2:20:50 PM
^^^They count towards bowl game eligibility. In 2010, they didn't count for anyone.2011, they counted for the FCS playoffs.2012, they count for FBS.2013, they can compete for a bowl game/etc themselves.
1/10/2012 2:37:20 PM
the Vols did put up 24 points on middle tennessee... in their last 8 games they averaged 11.5 points per game. including games against middle tennessee (1-7 sun belt), kentucky and and overtime game against vanderbilt. But at the same time... that stretch included: Bama, LSU, arkansas, Georgia, and South Carolina. They lost a few coordinators and their coach is on the hot seat. We should be favorites, but I'm not sure by how much.
1/10/2012 2:47:42 PM
1/10/2012 2:48:53 PM
so if I'm not mistaken our home schedule next year is South Alabama, Citadel, Wake, BC, FSU, and some Coastal team (maybe Virginia?) Awesome..
1/10/2012 2:58:38 PM
^^And when he returned he didn't play like the same guy. 43.6 completion % 3 TDs 4 INTs against Vanderbilt and Kentucky after his return.[Edited on January 10, 2012 at 2:59 PM. Reason : ^]
1/10/2012 2:58:48 PM
For what it's worth, I've seen mock drafts that have Bray as a Top-5 pick.
1/10/2012 3:14:18 PM
1/10/2012 5:39:39 PM
good to know about USA.
1/10/2012 5:57:57 PM
^^I guess I should have read the whole thing instead of just skimming it at work:
1/10/2012 8:10:01 PM
By the wording on the document, I think our game vs USA last year would not have counted towards bowl eligibility even if we had played FIU (etc) instead of Liberty. Since we played Liberty, they were our 1 allowable win vs an FCS team to count towards the bowl. This coming year, USA will count towards a team's bowl eligibility, but as an FCS team. Since we play The Citadel, we have 2 FCS teams on our schedule next year.
1/10/2012 9:06:31 PM
^I agree with this, based on the wording of the document. Other people think they'll count as an FBS team though. It'd be nice to see source with a more definitive answer.

http://www.bcinterruption.com/2012/1/10/2697648/2012-college-football-rankings-florida-state-virginia-tech-notre-dame-nc-state-clemsonIt would appear that we are losing the poll for the best team BC will face...to skew or not to skew....hmmmmmm

"Associate Head Coach for Defense".I assume that's the same thing as Defensive Coordinator? What happens with Archer?
1/11/2012 1:54:21 PM
Why would you assume that? Archer isn't going anywhere.
1/11/2012 1:57:56 PM
^^i would put it more along the lines of Associate DC
