Well-known video game obssession? Check
Tendency to use Simpsons quotes in every day conversation? Check
Socially awkward and hence no social life? Check
Good grades? Check

Oh man I could go on and on. But things are different now... I'm not in high school

The only things nerdy about me were my grades and the occasional questionable outfit.

To put an end to the aforementioned 'revisionism ITT':

Yes (even before Advanced D&D); Yes; Yes if long hair, an old Air Force jacket, concert jerseys, and wide belts with a Lord of the Rings belt-buckle qualify; Nope; "anime" -what? Edit: weekend nights at the theatre watching late-night Star Wars I (now IV) replays and rock movies with Alice Cooper; the Stones; or Jimi Hendrix: or, at home in a blacklight poster filled room listening to Sabbath and Deep Purple - the best thing for doing Chem II (what was AP at the time), physics, or calculus.

Scary, no?

I was one of those crossover nerds

tolerated by the cool kids, smoked with the stoners, mostly accepted by the nerd herd

I was the biggest nerd ever. Victim of shoe wedgies, regular wedgies, being picked up, thrown, shoved, tripped, name it.

I turned out remarkably well.

No...I was really more of a freak than a nerd. And I don't mean a Goth-freak...just a "That guy's a fucking weirdo" freak.

Not much has changed.

Man, I wish. I didn't fit in anywhere. From what I could overhear in class, the nerds at my school had some great parties.

I was a jock (played 3 sports) but I was in all honors/AP classes. I guess I was kind of a hybrid.

My school was extremely small and I was basically in every crowd - except we didn't really have preppy kids. I was certainly better at science / math but language skills were probably the most highly thought of at my high school.

Honestly for some reason I was one of the cool kids which doesn't make any sense... I think its because I had only cool kids in my middle school advisee group so from then on I was cool.

I'm Krallum and I approved this message.

I definitely was a nerd. I still am. I am proud of it. Nobody really knew it though... I was mostly non-existent and kept to myself. My high school was quite large (graduating class was something like 560 people) and I wasn't part of any specific clique.

On a side note, I just started playing Dungeons & Dragons this year so my nerd cred has increased

I had about 450 in my graduating class, and my HS definitely had the standard cliques: jocks, preps (rich kids), thugs, wiggers, stoners, nerds, etc.

The interesting part about my school was that in included the richest neighborhood in Greensboro along with some of the poorest. The richest kids were all wanna-be rednecks. Their parents spoiled the hell out of them, but they tried their hardest act country. Sure, they all got $50k cars for their 16th birthdays, but they were jacked up trucks instead of BMWs.

I was a misfit too.... belonged to a small group of 'unpopular' kids that basically were invisible....unless someone decided to pick or make fun one of us... such was life then
