Give me a fucking break.

The team does not want to read a 30 page thread where people alternate between sucking their dicks and calling them garbage every other post depending on the score of the game and whether their most recent field goal attempt went in.

Now if there was ONE measuring stick, in this case giving them chops... I'm pretty sure at least one person on the team would take the time to read and see who was issued the chop, what the offense was, and then report back to the rest of the team on any recent chop developments.

I'd like to nominate Vandenburg. He has a good since of humor, seems like a cool guy, and I think he'd take the leadership role necessary to make sure players are informed on a timely basis when they receive a chop.

Bottom line: The players don't have to care about chops if they dont want to, but since all their friends, family, and fans will be following the "Chopping Block" (I'd like to name it that if that's okay with slavefamous) closely, it certainly behooves them to stay informed.

I know when I was a player in high school our entire team practically followed the HS messageboards and if someone on our team had gotten a chop for airballing a layup, they would have heard about it all week. Hell even our coach followed the messageboard, if chops were in back then he'd probably issued a few of them himself.

What is the statute of limitations on administering a chop?

Because Howell probably would have been given one for the end of the Texas game if this had been in place.

I feel like this thread is useless because I highly doubt any of their freinds or family or themselves read this, and even if they did I doubt they'd give a shit what internet people have to say

"hey zo, the internet gave you a chop, better step your game up"

then again there was that one te that used to post on here looking for shrooms

Within a few years, we'll have players putting tomahawk stickers on their lockers.

Whenever a new "thing" craze starts catching fire and everyone's talking about it there's always people who say its dumb.

I'm sure you are the same people who said "bros icing bros" was dumb and would never catch on, but at the end of the day bros got iced whether you liked it or not. And if you declined an icing in my circle of friends we probably wouldn't hang out with you anymore.

The bottom line is people love to give chops because it's hilarious and there's no stopping a freight train like chops. When the new thing catches on its more fun to ride along and play the game then it is to be a nancy boy on the sidelines saying its dumb.

And yes Howell probably would have been given a chop for that near goaltend, but I think we want to be forward looking here and I'd hate for Howell to have the first two chops in wolfpack history. That would be quite a legacy.

Horner certainly would have to be retroactively issued chops for the accumulation of all those pump fakes.

I have no clue what you are saying there?

Are you saying we didn't follow the messageboards or are you saying there was no internet in 2001?

I always thought chops referred to lips when it came to musicians. Trumpet players are said to have good chops if their lips have stamina (after playing for a long time they start to go numb, but good chops can keep playing).

So they are supposed to feel ashamed...but they are also supposed to laugh about it and make it seem like no big deal that they blew a game? Which is it?

You also stated that chops are issued for bonehead plays in a game...but then you said this:
Quote :
"when Scott Wood wore a wife beater during warm ups vs Elon. Greg Paulus first day on campus he showed up in jean shorts and timberlands."

I'm so confused. And I hate myself for reading enough of this thread to comment that much about it.

When you do something stupid thats a chop.

^ If they own the chop and wear it then theres no reason to be ashamed.

Now if they're like I dont care that I got a chop... that's a totally different story. You can't get issued a chop and be like whatever man. That shit doesn't fly, not when everyone knows you have one...

so basically ITT face decides who and what gets a chop and what we tww are supposed to think of certain players bc of that chop.

im confused. you are going to say "i dont decide how they get a chop" but you did. you said 'when they do something stupid' or specifically "when i think they do something stupid. "

CJ Leslie made some stupid plays last game. I dont understand why he doesn't have a chop.

Actually we have a review panel who ultimately determine whether they are assigned a chop. However, all users can participate at nominating chops. Again, the integrity of the chop has to be maintained first and foremost. If people issue them willy nilly, then no one would care about receiving a chop.

On the other hand, if everytime a player on the other team screwed up... if we could get the crowd to start yelling "EHHHHHH THAT'S A CHOP" it would maybe be the best thing that ever happened in the surrounding six area codes.

i agree face. if we could get a 'THATS A CHOP' chant going each and every stupid play, that it would be the best thing that has ever happened in the surrounding six zip area codes.

well that settles it. How do we get in touch with someone (wolfpack club?) to start the "EHHHH THATS A CHOP" phenomenon?

At the very least maybe we need some posters at the game that say THATS A CHOP. People will catch on faster that way

I'm not sure if any specific individual deserves a chop in this game (although wood might be an honorable mention for continuing his tendency to pickup silly fouls). can the team earn a collective chop for choking, again?

Yeah the whole team made a lot of stupid fouled. Lorenzo was a complete wtf moment.
If you're going to foul intentionally you don't do it with 8 on the shot clock.

Cjw had a big game can't chop him. Wood with his stupid reach in fouls and double foul on offense is my nominee

Let the chops begin.

I second this. Personally I think Brown was attempting to draw the 5-second call on him, because he was hawking him all over the court for a long time. But still, back up enough to not commit the foul yourself.

Wood had some bad fouls but the double foul was just a stupid call.

Brown's foul gets my vote for a chop.

Wood has been begging for a chop from dumb fouls since the beginning of last year. Yesterday's performance is the culmination of several games of idiocy.

I nominated Scott Wood.
