OMG I'M IN LOVEI have no idea where I would fit something like that though
10/12/2011 5:18:54 PM
its not that big!just two bookshelves put together
10/12/2011 5:20:45 PM
lol yeah but the way my house is configured I can't really think of an area where something like that would fit well. I guess it would work in the guest bedroom.

I don't know if Ikea still sells these but I got:and attached two to the inside my closet wall and i hang all my scarves and a few long shoulder purses off them. I've got one more too i love the hooks. you can use them to hang jewelry off of too, and the hooks swivel. I also have for all my belts, esp. the skinny ones.

magnetic tins for spices
10/13/2011 12:47:28 PM
^^^ That is super cool! I would need it to have space for a chair though for when I'm sewing and what not.
10/14/2011 2:16:32 PM
from Martha Stewart (I like this because it keeps the shape of your boots)

^ a lot- I like the two bookcases together idea but I have way too much stuff for it to work! But I probably have way more than i actually need ^4 I think the two dressers put together is a cute idea for a craft table- but wouldnt be that great for sitting at and i sit doing most of my crafts so I dont know how much i would use it as a table top. Looks like theres more stuff to the right on the picture so there might be a table top over there. I just finished my craft room at my house this summer and I love it- pictures are in my photo gallery but i dont know how to upload to this thread. I mostly sew and scrapbook and it works great for both. I got the table from ikea- I wanted it bigger but with the dimensions of the room i couldnt get it any longer. The stuff on the left side of the table is the scrapbooking- right side is for sewing. As far as orginizing, I like have things away but not too away. I actually like how the shelves and closet are open so i can see what i have. I also didnt care about the bins matching or anything so I just bought what worked best for each thing.Only downside is I cant have all three of my machines out at one time and i end up using at least two with every project (I have a single needle, serger and an embroidery machine) so theres a lot of moving machines around when i work. I need to mount my thread holders on the wall for more table space but i havnt gottend around to that yet.

occamsrezr and I finally got around to installing that Elfa shelving we bought during their sale. Sadly I forgot to take a before picture of our ridiculous pantry. We measure the shelves after taking them out and they were 24" deep No wonder we could never find anything in there. We also repainted the walls from this 70s cream color to grey. Next weekend I'll paint the trim and doors white. Too tired to do it today. Our cat testing the strength of the shelves I was impressed with how easy it was to install. So far it hasn't ripped out of the walls lol. When the pull-out baskets go on sale next month we're going to get some to install below the lowest shelf.[Edited on November 13, 2011 at 5:29 PM. So jealous - they look great!I wish we had a pantry
11/13/2011 5:43:55 PM
Having a pantry is one of the best things ever in a kitchen for sure. If we didn't have one I'd probably get one of those pull-out pantry thingies they make for cabinet renovations these days.
11/13/2011 5:47:02 PM
We have like eleventy billion cabinets in our kitchen (including corner cabinets). We use one of those as our pantry but it's still annoying. Eventually I would like to reorganize our kitchen but I think it's better to wait and see what cool stuff we get off the registry so I can just do it all at once and get rid of old stuff we don't need anymore.
11/13/2011 5:49:52 PM
That's how my parents' kitchen used to be too. When they renovated they got one of these things: http://www.kraftmaid.com/products/storage-solutions/kitchen/food/tall-pantry-pull-out.html#/n:/p:3except their's goes from the floor to almost the ceiling. It definitely helped a lot with being able to actually find stuff. Before it would all get piled into the corner cabinet and never seen again

Oh thanks for the link. I'm on my iPhone now and if I click the link it just takes me to the homepage. I'll have to investigate this tomorrow.

since I'm homeless, all my stuff is carried in my kifaru pack. different pouches (labeled with colored zipper pulls) for tools, food prep/ cooking, survival gear, water purifier, toiletries, etc. clothing in a compression stuff sack, sleeping bag at bottom of pack with tarp thing, laptop in a sleeve, cell phone/ ipod in a waterproof bag. knives (for sale in classifieds) in bottom of pack. I'm something of a gear whore, and I like everything to be real organized in my pack, so I can get it if I need it. on me I have a folder, fixed blade on the belt, flashlight, wallet (empty of course) notebook, pens and other first line gear in case I leave my pack in the woods or something.

So on Black Friday, Michael's is going to have a bunch of their craft organizing stuff for 50% off, and then an additional 30% off your entire purchase. So 80% all the stuff You can see the pic of the stuff here: http://bfads.net/Ad/Michaels-2011I'm going to go check it out sometime this week and see if it's the sort of stuff worth dealing with Black Friday to get.Anyone know if The Container Store does any Black Friday deals?[Edited on November 15, 2011 at 12:04 PM. ^ from the ad it looks like its only scrapbooking storageim sure some of it can be multi purpose thoughim so ready to set up a craft/sewing room but i know it will lead to me buying more machines... serger, embroidery etcand oh yeah i want to upgrade my current machine. we'll see though
11/15/2011 3:21:28 PM
how did I know I would find NCSUWolfy in this thread...
11/15/2011 4:13:48 PM
^^ Yeah a lot of it is just general crafting storage that they call scrapbooking storage. I want to get the wall mounted thingy because it would be perfect for storing all of my gift wrapping stuff that currently gets thrown in a box and fucked up by the time I get around to using it again.

^ Actually it did work out to 80% off when I checked my receipt. They took the 30% from the full price rather than the sale price. I ended up only getting one of the smaller things they had one sale though since they sold out of most of the big stuff.Anyhoo, got an email today from The Container Store. All their Elfa stuff is 30% right now. Can't seem to find on their website when the sale ends though. http://www.containerstore.com/shop/elfa/

Wow, that was fast. Thanks!!I never know how to organize cleaning supplies. They just end up getting cluttered under my sink. I love this though:
6/20/2012 10:35:02 AM
nice, looks easy enough to do.

^^ We have those hangers on the door of our pantry. It's great when we actually use it
6/20/2012 1:34:45 PM
Where did you find them? I have had the hardest time finding broom/mop racks.
6/20/2012 1:39:24 PM
i wish we had the proper closet space downstairs to designate an area for cleaning and household supplies. the downstairs part of our house severely lacks in any sort of closet space (we have 1 small hall closet for coats and that's it) but the upstairs is brimming with tons of space. which is good but i would prefer to keep most of the cleaning stuff in one place downstairs. i also wish we had a pantry - or even one floor to ceiling long cabinet.
6/20/2012 1:41:32 PM
^^ The Container Store has a bunch of different ones. They stick them in the back right corner of the store on Glenwood.
6/20/2012 1:59:54 PM
