well, movie theaters and pretty much all high line projectors use DLP so there has to be some merit to the tech. I'd like to see one in action but i'm wondering if consumer dlp and pro dlp are different

yep. it was a closeout due to being the last one in stock from last year's model, so about $800 lower than the current year model. Though it has 1 or 2 more HDMI ports than the current model (in the end that may not matter as I'll run things through my HTS), a different control panel on the TV, and doesn't have built-in wireless (USB dongle only), but my BD player does, so that point was moot.

haha, I was thinking about it. However, the remote to my HTS did everything I needed when I last had it setup, so if it does that with my new equipment, I'll just stick with it for now and add the harmony to my christmas list
