For page 2:Thanks! It's a commercial for a check-cashing place called Friendly Check. I think it's only airing on the "urban" stations though. Also, I just found out I'm still in the running to be the next voice of Nick Jr. and a show on G4TV. Would. Be. Awesome.

Today, I recorded some on-hold messaging for 2 local, but pretty large companies. Was kind of cool.Oh and I'd like to correct some misinformation (for anyone that cares)... the voice of Hulu.com is not Rodney Saulsberry, as I said earlier. It is actually a guy named Dave Fennoy. TMYK.*Oh snap! I just learned I booked an ad for a bank chain in Pennsylvania... playing a 60 yr old dude. lol[Edited on October 18, 2011 at 2:37 PM. Reason : new gig]
10/18/2011 2:31:11 PM
It's been a pretty awesome week, so far. More on-hold messaging, a political ad, a pharmaceutical study ad, a promo video for NCA&T and found out I booked a gig for this Friday (don't know what it is, yet).Follow your dream, people! It can be done!

I think hypaone wins the TWW coolest job contest, hands down.
10/25/2011 3:04:23 PM
theDuke866 might beat him out, but it's close.
10/25/2011 3:23:49 PM
^^^ Not Moose... the lady that tells you about the shows and what they help teach your kids. They better not mess with the Moose! ^^ Thanks. ^ What does he do?*Just booked to be the voice of Viejas Casino & Outlet Center in California! *[Edited on October 25, 2011 at 4:38 PM. He flies attack aircraft if I remember correctly.
10/25/2011 4:52:17 PM
Damn... ha, yea, I think he has me beat by a long-shot!
10/25/2011 5:08:12 PM
Forgive my ignorance here, but whenever I used to download 128k mp3s they would sound like shit. How do you get studio voice-over quality with ISDN; which if I'm correct, is the same bitrate?
10/25/2011 6:42:36 PM
If I'm not mistaken, a voiceover track doesn't have anywhere near the frequency content of a full-band recording, so lower bitrates can be sufficient. For example, one of the main gripes with 128k MP3s is the "sizzle" you get on cymbal washes; a voice never approaches that frequency.
10/25/2011 6:56:54 PM
How much to record my voice mail message?
10/25/2011 6:59:11 PM
^thisAnd
10/25/2011 9:12:37 PM
^^^^ vinylbandit got it right. With VO, you're only dealing with mono, voice-only audio. Furthermore, once the producers/engineers get into actually making the spots, they're going to process the voice file even more. After all of that, any quality issues will be moot. Good question.^^ & ^ TWW special: $15 (usually $20) for a personal voice-mail greeting ^ First National Bank of Pennsylvania
10/25/2011 11:18:31 PM
^damn, I was hoping it would be my bank. ]
10/26/2011 10:52:15 AM
10/26/2011 10:55:39 AM
great way to confuse people that don't really know your voice.
10/26/2011 11:18:03 AM
^^^ It's for a TV ad, so you may see it.Maybe I should put an ad in Classifieds for doing VM greetings...
10/26/2011 12:14:31 PM
And/or corporate phone trees.
10/26/2011 2:16:16 PM
Now those are definitely more than $20.
10/26/2011 2:17:51 PM
I'm now the voice of Viejas Casino in California! For all of their commercials and on-hold messaging, for the casino and outlet mall.
10/27/2011 8:11:11 PM
Some interesting auditions today. One involved saying two words in the style of "Bill & Ted" Keanu Reeves. The other was for a NASCAR feature on ESPN.

This morning, I had an ISDN session for a Need for Speed spot for Spotify (UK). It was pretty awesome working with a studio in the UK for the first time. And so now I have an agent in the UK.
11/10/2011 11:59:57 AM
what about audio books hypaone?
11/10/2011 12:05:38 PM
I've never really pursued audiobooks. I just don't have the stamina for it. It is a pretty long process, keeping up with character nuances, consistent tone for the "narrator." Not my cup of tea...Maybe sometime in the near future, though.
11/10/2011 12:29:17 PM
I always wondered how audiobook people could voice books like Harry Potter and such. Dear God, how I love Jim Dale!!
11/10/2011 12:31:41 PM
11/10/2011 12:36:36 PM
Yeah, the guy that does the Harry Potter books is a machine. It is seriously ridiculous that he voiced EVERY character in EVERY book. Truly amazing talent.
11/10/2011 12:47:11 PM
Check out my Spotify ad for Need for Speed: The Run! http://tinyurl.com/cv8pzoa

I now have a PRI/ISDN channels. You should totally record my company's directory/phone tree/greetings.
11/14/2011 3:29:08 PM
Let's make it happen! (srsly)
11/14/2011 4:09:45 PM
Sweet! Just got contacted by Pandora to do commercials with them, too. I <3 you, 2011!

Still super jealous of your career. And glad to see you're doing well!
11/14/2011 10:02:13 PM
^^ ^ Thanks... I really appreciate that. I still say there shouldn't be anything stopping you from pursuing it.

Recording a series of promos for The Hangover 2 BluRay release!
11/15/2011 3:20:44 PM
They played 2 of my voice-over demos this morning, live on Bob and the Showgram! That was pretty cool.
11/16/2011 9:48:47 AM
This is really cool. How does your normal conversational voice compare to the VO work?
11/16/2011 10:14:23 AM
Thanks. :-)My speaking voice is exactly the same as most of my commercial gigs. For the promo and imaging stuff, not so much. Every now and then, I get to vary my tone and stuff... but for the most part, they just want a real, natural read.
11/16/2011 10:43:38 AM
So, I got mentioned on Bob and the Showgram again this morning for my voice-over work. Nice.
11/21/2011 10:04:41 AM
Forgot to post that I recorded a Spotify ad for Bing.com yesterday. 'Twas pretty cool. Also, once it's actually airing, I'll post a link to one of the TBS promos I did for The Hangover 2 Blu-Ray release.

1. HOLY HELL, YOU'RE THE GUY WHO DOES THE 1,000 WAYS TO DIE VOICE (has always been one of my favorites)2. If this is similar to your speaking voice, you must get the ladies pretty easily[Edited on November 29, 2011 at 6:38 PM. Reason : PS, please do audiobooks!]
11/29/2011 6:38:33 PM
Unfortunately, I don't actually do that promo... that was just something for the demo. My voice is fairly deep. Let's just say it's never hurt my chances in the past. ^^ <3
