So we go Saturday to find out what the little dude looks like. I'm exited but those 4D images can be pretty creepy.

Still working on a name
Short list:
Andrew (Drew)
Bryce
Mason
Jackson

Mason is also the name of my 1st cousin's baby. Is that too close? I thought it was but others are telling me it's okay. I know it is my baby and I can name it whatever I want but wanted to be considerate.

Unless it is an important or special family name that the two of you have in common (grandfather, etc.), then I would not have the same name as a first cousin. That's just me though. It also depends on how close you are to this person, etc. It's your baby, and if you love that name, go with it, but you should be prepared that it might offend said cousin.

I like all the names on your list, can't go wrong there.

Jackson I think works out the best with your last name.

Jackson is a family name too. The only thing about that one is we have some friends who live really close who have a baby named Jaxton.

We were stuck on Bryce for a while too

i personally don't like andrew/drew (bc i don't like names you can shorten to nicknames. if you want to call your kid drew, name him that) or bryce. mason is okay but unless your 1st cousin lives far away & you almost never see them, i would stay away. i like jackson, especially if it's a family name. jaxton is not a real name so i wouldn't worry about your friends' kid.

if anybody has suggestions for middle names for our kid, that'd be great. we have no ideas. first name is parker. we need gender-obvious middle names for both sexes since we're not finding out ahead of time. parker is my maternal grandparents' last name (they both died very recently. we were very close). rules: nothing really weird, nothing made up, and nothing spelled incorrectly.

How about Bailey (or Bayley)?

Bailey Brame sounds good together.

se7entythree, what's the last name? That'll make a difference in how a name flows.

^^^^lol that's what somebody in Old School suggested

our last name is Liv so we can't use olivia, olive, or oliver. our niece's & nephew's names are evelyn grey & owen carter so those are out also.

Baby Middle Name Generator: http://www.babynamegenie.com/baby-middle-names/index.php

I haven't seen anything I like yet on the boy side.

Parker Bladen could work, but it's a little more out there.

^First Kid?

I tell ya, registering for baby stuff was a pretty eye opening experience. I was like holy shit I don't know what we need. I was relying on the wifey and didn't think it would be too hard beforehand. We spent 2 hours in there though.

yeah, first kid. i kinda tend to operate on a minimalist type deal, which i figured out when we got married. i just can't see spending lots of money on something we'll not use much. i don't know how this will translate to baby stuff. should be interesting. right now it looks like the only furniture we'll need is a crib, and there's a $99 one at ikea that i like, so that's pretty good i guess.

We went ahead and got the full set for a little under $900 (Crib set that turns into bed, dresser, chest of drawers) It seems like pretty quality stuff that we will keep for a long time.

We have our first baby shower this Saturday. I think we will have 4 or 5 total, cha-ching!

we already have a very nice matching dresser & chest of drawers. there's a full-sized bed in there now that i think we're going to leave in the room for nursing & late nights. my great grandfather made the headboard for my grandmother when she was a kid, so it has a lot of sentimental value. we already have my great-grandmother's wooden rocking chair (not the porch kind, one with cushions & stuff that you use indoors) in there too.

have fun at the shower! i'm only 10wks so we don't have any planned yet. several people have said they're going to throw one, but that's about all the discussion we've had.

So I think we are going to go with Jackson. At least this week

Two middle names we are looking at
Jackson Wade Brame
Jackson Carter Brame

Also how does Jack Brame sound? Is Jack outdated now?

I think it sounds better too. Plus Carter-Finley!

I wanted Wade as a first name but couldn't talk her into it plus it is hard to find a good middle name to go with it. Maybe our next boy.

So Jackson Carter Brame it is

Haven't decide on whether we will call him Jackson or Jack, probably Jackson.
