I was baffled for 10 seconds as I thought I was getting dizzy watching things in my office sway in north Charlotte and I could have sworn I heard a very faint low rumble, then there was about 2 minutes of oh-shit mode panic finding out what happened until I heard about the quake from a coworker. I had thought one of the units at the McGuire nuke plant right outside Charlotte had just gone up and it was only a matter of time before the fallout reached us.

leaning against my car tearing down the engine and felt the car shaking. I stood back and couldn't feel it anymore but the car was visibly rocking. I figured the open hatchback had caught some wind from outside the garage (though there wasn't much wind )

went back to work

wife told me before bed that there was an earthquake
