hey, those of you guys who have been doing the HBO 3-months HBO/Cinemax 3-months trick go and check out your plan online and see if you are now getting charged for either service. It looks like they are charging me for HBO now, even though i just signed up last week for HBO 3-months free after having HBO/Cinemax for free. I wonder if they have found the glitch and are no longer allowing this to happen.

Yeah, my bill seems silly. I'm yelling at them currently.Either they'll fix it, or i'll drop them for TWC.[Edited on February 26, 2013 at 3:51 PM. Reason : or just kill cable altogether]

^what kind of issues did you see?does anyone know if you drop down to basic local channels only if they'll offer you a special price for a higher tier after a few months?
2/26/2013 3:57:28 PM
You pussies will be sick of ATTs bullshit in like 1/3 of the time it took to get sick of TWC.

^ Not me. My bill never changes and that's good enough for me.

in the other charges and credits section, all the credits for the past few months were nullified.

^^let me know what you hear from Customer Service. i got a call yesterday from the CS department asking if i had any questions about my service. i just said, jokingly, yeah why does it keep getting more expensive. the CSR was just like 'sorry to hear that, if you ever have any questions about your service please do not hesitate to call.' click.

My experience with Uverse was less than ideal. I don't know if this is still the case but they charged me $10/month extra for ANY HD programming. It's fucking 2013 dude HD is the standard. Their sales rep lied to me and said HD channels were included in the packages. Their picture quality is noticeably noisier than TWC/Dish from what I've seen and I just generally wasn't a fan of their menus and remote. Seemed sluggish to me. All those were moderately disappointing experiences, but the most enraging was getting reimbursed for a credit on my account after I cancelled. I had to call numerous times and be dragged around from department to department. It was like a 45-minute phone call each time with me either saying screw it and hanging up or the call would "drop."

^ I could totally see the rep telling you it was included. On the phone they were tring to get me to switch back, the best they could offer was $30 more per month than i was already paying. The rep tried to tell me how their internet was over 100 times faster than what I already had. They like to throw around terms like HD ready DVR and access to x number of HD channels. Just another way to advertise a lower price and hit you with fees.

^^jeez, i don't know what kind of receiver you had but the menu, interface, and speed of my u-verse box is faster than any TWC box i've had.

I just cycled the HBO/Cinemax with no issue. Monthly total stayed the same.

Last year I was at the end of my rope with Twc. Right ahead of canceling a coworker heard me on the phone with them and asked how much I was paying. I had stnd cable, HD, DVR, stnd internet. Been with Twc for nearly 6 years. Paid around 120 per month. Turns out she canceled and got this offer from a save agent. She had the same service as me with on additional non DVR box. The save came in around 65 bucks a month. Fuck you Twc. Needless to say, I called the save agent. She told me to cancel on Friday and she would call me on Monday to give me service I used pay 120 for 56 bucks. I got it for a two year lock yet didn't have to sign shit. It hasn't gone up either except for the modem fee. Buy one off eBay. They no longer have that deal. Best they can do is some 90 Buck deal now. Only discovered that after I found out Another coworker was paying 150 for the same service I had. Seriously. Screw Twc.

It's been a while...so I'll be moving in June and U-verse is available, so we're considering switching. I have a couple questions:1. Would the 6Mbps down plan be sufficient for streaming Netflix/Hulu/YouTube at 720p/1080p without buffering, stalling or degrading quality? I know Netflix states you "should" only need 5Mbps for HD streaming, but I'm looking for real-world experiences here. I'm currently on 15Mbps with TWC, don't really download large files (at least not needed quickly). Will have ~2 PCs, 2 phones & 2 tablets connected.2. Anyone have service interruptions any more? I haven't heard much about it lately, just checking again.Any & all feedback on U-verse is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

6 Mbps is fine, but it feels a little slow sometimes.

Though I will say, I've been unable to update my account (change any plans etc) online for the last couple months so that's pretty annoying...and it doesn't look like it's going to be fixed. Also a chat rep promised me all sorts of credits and discounts and none of it happened...So I'm not so happy with uverse atm
