Actually it's on the up-and-up. Look up L.A.Live, there is a small portion of downtown that's pretty cool and is getting a heckuvalotbetter.

But I agree even at their best they'll never be as cool as San Diego.

San Diego is probably the most amazing city ever so nothing can compete with it. It would suck if all the celebrities started being bandwagoners like with USC though.

Special teams woes are still with us. Opening kickoff returned for TD, and Kaeding injured on the kickoff return.

Why wasn't scifres kicking off in the first place, he's obviously got more power.

They are using Tolbert too much IMO

Matthews has played very well today.

Tolbert was perfect for that play, 4th and inches, but when you're between the 15 yard lines Matthews should get the vast majority of carries.

I hope Kaeding never plays another game for the Chargers. Screw that fucking weak-legged, stupid looking choking-ass bitch. There are plenty of kickers out there who can make field goals and actually kick the ball into the back of the endzone from the 35.

Losing Castillo is more of a problem, but Vaughn Martin is probably ready to step up in his place.

You haven't ever seen kaedings placement kicks?

I think he leads the league in kicks closest to the the endzone with no return or some shit like that

It sucks to have him as my kicker and harvin as my RB in fantasy. I guess its one to huaseka or however you spell it.

I saw more of Kaeding's "placement kicks" returned for touchdowns last year than I ever want to see again. Happened again on his first kickoff of the season.

The Chargers need a strong-legged kicker who can make a fucking field goal in the playoffs.

i guess 67 yard field goal kicks arent good enough. last year sucked for special teams and it looks like it spilled over to this year. but its week one

In the regular season

Also, the Chargers rarely attempt a kick longer than 53 or so. Kaeding did nail a 57-yarder 2 years ago, but there are plenty of kickers who are better at long fgs and can get the ball to the back of the endzone on kickoffs.

1-4 last year in 50+ yarders

Kaeding can't make a postseason fg to save his life, so no real loss if you ask me

Kaeding is/was a very good regular season kicker with great FG accuracy. In the playoffs though he could not handle the pressure and sucked huge balls. Who's available for SD to pick up? Kiker is out there...

Statistically the chargers had the worst special teams in history last year (not hyperbole, this was statistical analysis).

Can't believe they can't revert to the mean this year haha.

Wait who was saying kc was good this year on page one hahaha they lost by 30 to the bills

^ I said that I never said they were good. I was implying that they could be a threat to the Chargers.

I based that mainly on the fact that they went 10-6 last year and brought back all of their "stars" like Cassel, Bowe, Charles, Hali, etc. But yeah they looked horrible yesterday and throughout the preseason. I expected them to the 2nd best team in this division, but shit they might be the worst team in the AFC.

I mean...I can see why New England is favored...but NO ONE is giving San Diego a chance. I really really hope they can pull this one out.

That's the first I've seen. Every ESPN expert picked the Patriots and Peter King has them by 10. Oh well.

An away game in the northeast? Remember how they played the Steelers in 2009. ewww

Don't see the Chargers pulling this one out.

New England is the last team with the right to complain about roughing the passer being called overzealously.

Also, Tolbert is a beast.
