Likely visiting family. Poor people whose family have been Americans for several generations likely only need to spend a few dollars in gas or even walk to visit family.

Don't know if you knew, but I went to South Carolina and let me tell you how exotic it is...

I didn't notice anything particularly special about their bread.

This reminds me of some show or movie I watched. Someone was bragging about a place they had been to or something they ate and the other person is acting like it's no big deal so the bragger keeps trying to press the issue.

"But unless you were actually there"
"I can imagine"
"No, no. You can't imagine, being there, just... wow"
"Yeah, I can imagine"
"But it's not the same"
etc.

The memory is too generic, so it's not coming back to me now.

Was hoping someone would remember the show/scene for me.

Oh yeah, The Office. Ryan bragging to Jim about being in NYC.

^^^ The Office. Ryan was talking about Thailand, then admitted that he'd only had pad thai.

I used to know a guy like that. Apparently he lived in Iceland until he was 1 year old. He would wear a stupid western hat to parties and then talk to girls and slip into his "icelandic accent" which sounded like a douchebag doing a bad impression of an australian, and then when they'd ask him why he talked like that he'd say he was from iceland.

It was quite possibly the worst game that I've ever seen.

Then another time I heard him telling a girl that he'd like to get shot because the scar would be cool.

While I wasn't a fan of kagogi, I do tend to prefer the food I ate in Korea over the food I had during my time in Kyrgyzstan

When I was flying back from Germany after spending time in the Bavarian Alps, there was a guy on my flight doing this. So annoying.

The guy right beside me has filled up a liter water bottle full of chew spit (note I differentiated from dip spit which is lighter and doesn't stink as bad)

Fucking redneck bastard. I know he's not going to read this though...WAY too poor to afford the internet
