I experimented with this a while back with some success.

Keeping a notepad and pen by your bed to jot down dreams as soon as you wake up -- even if its just a couple of key points in the middle of the night -- is a huge help. Once you start remembering all of your dreams (and you'd be amazed how many you forget), it's a lot easier to start dreaming lucidly.

That said, I always had mixed success. If I decided I wanted to fly or do something superhuman, no problem. If I decided I wanted to make gorgeous women appear and have sex with them (and any guy on here who's claiming this isn't one of his goals in lucid dreaming is lying), I'd wake up immediately.

^^well, when you have the midwatch (0000-0400) and you've got work that keeps you up til 2100, then, oops?

^ ah yeah, on a military schedule idk how much REM sleep you'll get

I've just noticed that during the semester when I'm more sleep deprived I stop remembering my dreams, then now that I've caught up on sleep I have a ton (no lucid though)

I just had one, woke up before anything interesting happened. I think the deal is you've got to go with the flow without engaging the thinking part of your brain too much to make decisions and change things. Also I read somewhere that making yourself spin helps somehow.

last night i had a dream, and I think I was lucid for just long enough to look at my watch and see the hands spinning backwards. I remember thinking "wow so this is a lucid dream... let me check my watch..."

then it was over, and on to some other scene

I have gotten to the point that pretty much every time I dream, I know I am dreaming and can take control. Sometimes it takes me a little while to figure out it is a dream, but almost always there are certain clues that tip me off.

The most common clue in most of my dreams is that my Dad shows up. These dreams are usually pretty cool because I get a chance to hang out with him and shoot the shit again.

okay i've got to figure this shit out. twice in the last month or so i've realized that i was dreaming, but just didn't do anything about it. one time my phone rang for a name that i knew i didn't have in my phone and the other time i was with someone that i knew who looked similar (but wasn't) someone else, but i knew that i didn't know anyone that fit that description. but all i did was think about that, in the dream; i didn't act on it. it's very frustrating.

I really want to be able to have lucid dreams...I've had then before...but I always end up waking myself up because I'm like oh shit I'm dreaming how cool...and then next thing I know I'm awake...

Honestly, I think it will benefit me in a few ways.

I want to STOP having vivid dreams. They're not pleasant and leave me fucking exhausted and stressed for 2-3 hours after waking up. Lol

Were they 5 tornadoes circulating around one another, or following sequentially? What category were they?

I was standing in front of what was apparently our house, which was in the middle of nowhere, kinda like how secluded James Bond's Skyfall house was

and the 5 tornadoes were visible at once closing in
