Aside from Cole winning me back over this season with his inspired play, I could give two shits about any of them re-signing. Cole may have only played well so he could get paid somewhere else. This doesn't sound reasonable, but maybe he wants a change?[Edited on June 13, 2011 at 9:44 AM. Reason : Page too]

nah, i'm pretty sure that cole want return a canes
6/13/2011 10:12:11 AM
I dont see Cole moving, the edmonton thing didn't reinforce the notion that grass is greener. It would have to be a team that is too good to say no to. Like the redwings called, or the penguins. You can't ignore their chances to be a threat year in, year out.At the same time, he's getting an old man mentality. Leading the team, taking young guys under his wing... he seemed to enjoy that role.
6/13/2011 11:40:50 AM
ugh, Chris Drury?are you kidding me?
6/13/2011 12:00:23 PM
Well I didn't say I wanted the Canes to sign him... I just posed the question of it being a possibility.I also included the positive things it could bring.
6/13/2011 12:46:55 PM
the only positive you mentioned was "good veteran player"http://espn.go.com/nhl/player/stats/_/id/231/chris-druryplease tell me how his last 2 seasons are anywhere near "good"
6/13/2011 2:22:21 PM
I do not want Chris Drury on the Hurricanes..... there. How about Ilya Bryzgalov?!
6/13/2011 2:27:15 PM
your drugs, may i have them?
6/13/2011 2:47:09 PM
HAHA.... it's just dexilant for my heartburn.I was really trying to get a rise out of someone with that comment. I am also a bit bored at work.

6/13/2011 3:19:34 PM
I would sign chris drury only if his contract permitted him to play in clutch playoff games. But even then. Also, reczone has been bought, looking like it will be reopened august 1. Canes are in talks with the factory for space, though.
6/14/2011 12:35:39 AM
The Factory up in Wake Forest?? Thats about 10 minutes from my house, sweet
6/14/2011 8:29:03 AM
I realize that I am probably the last person on this board to see this list, but oh well, still pretty cool too see:http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/NHL-2010-11-Goal-Celebration-Ranking-Eastern-Co?urn=nhl-281859

Harrison resigned for $650k, $750k
6/16/2011 2:13:44 PM
Pitkanen, Jokinen, LaRose will not be resigned, per JR.
6/16/2011 2:49:20 PM
eh, DAMNIT, see ya
6/16/2011 2:57:58 PM
6/16/2011 3:06:45 PM
Fire up the Liles to Carolina rumors again. I'll start: Liles + 4th for Boychuk + 2nd -OR- for Bowman + 2nd -OR- for Jokinen's rights + 2nd conditional
6/16/2011 3:19:01 PM
I'm glad LaRose and Pitkanen won't be back. I liked them both, but not at the salaries they wanted, and I'm really happy that Maurice won't have LaRose around anymore to try to bump into the top 9 forwards rotation. Good to see Harrison back pretty cheaply as well, solid 6 or 7 d-man.Sucks about Jussi, but hopefully we've got some kind of plan lined up. I'd hate to see us lose Jussi and replace him with Dalpe and/or Boychuk. I like Dalpe, but we're gonna see an offensive drop off if that's the case unless he goes all Jeff Skinner.
6/16/2011 3:35:41 PM
like Dalpe a lot. i think he can be a surprise difference maker this year for us
6/16/2011 3:52:29 PM
how much money does not resigning those 3 save us?
6/16/2011 3:55:22 PM
$7.4 million based on last year's rates, though LaRose would go down and Jokinen up.Supposedly we're shopping Cole's rights as well. ]
6/16/2011 5:01:45 PM
Goodnight sweet Chadwick
6/16/2011 5:04:13 PM
Sooo we ditch larose and still can't keep jokinen?Fuck
6/16/2011 5:25:41 PM
I dont believe any of it.There will be no trade, LaRose will be back after he dicks around in FA for 2 days or less. Cole will be back with a significant raise after he hits the market and realizes our offer was higher than anything he got. Pitkanen and Jokinen will not be back though, only because thats how we work. Bring back the underachievers and ditch the talent.I do like the Harrison signing though.
6/16/2011 5:36:53 PM
They'll be back middle of next season. Cause that's how we roll.
6/16/2011 7:31:02 PM
PNC is reportedly going to buy RBC... PNC Center?
6/17/2011 5:25:14 PM
Great, now we get the Penis Center...
6/17/2011 6:59:25 PM
fuck pnc
6/17/2011 9:17:43 PM
Pink center?
6/17/2011 10:51:40 PM
I'm a big fan of a Pink Center
6/17/2011 11:36:29 PM
I like my centers pink, but I like my steaks Pittsburgh.I guess Chip was wrong about a lot of signings at the end of the week last week.
6/20/2011 9:31:27 AM
Larose is 879th out of 891 in terms of plus/minus this past year. I love the guy, but he is 3rd line at best. I do not have a problem sending him somewhere else.I hate losing Jussi. The guy just performs on every level. Period. As far as Joni goes, I couldn't give a shit. Too many times he is lazy as fuck, commits horribly stupid penalties, and is too expensive for his production. He's got talent but lacks a lot in some important areas.Cole needs to be resigned. We need veteran forwards like him. I personally would like to see him retire in Carolina but JR is so out of his mind these days that this becomes impossible.
6/20/2011 12:11:04 PM
So the canes made a post on their facebook page accepting questions which bob the blade will choose from during his interview with Skinner Wednesday morning. Half of the questions are teeny boppers asking Skinner for a date or what he looks for in a girl. One girl asked if he's going to play for the canes next year. Unbelievable the stupidity in our fanbase, I don't think there was one single good question posted
6/20/2011 9:22:55 PM
and you cant reply to it, because then you'll get 8 million emails from face book.
6/20/2011 9:39:56 PM
http://www.newsobserver.com/2011/06/21/1288369/nhl-economics-cost-canes-plenty.htmlLooking pretty clear that Jussi, Joni, and LaRose are all out. Possibly Erik Cole.
6/21/2011 8:12:26 AM
read that article...this is why we must continue to build through the draft. there is no room for error when you don't make the playoffs. drafting well, and continuing to develop the ones down in Charlotte is becoming even more important.
6/21/2011 9:21:57 AM
LaRose can get a raise somewhere else? Who's gonna shell out for his awful +/-? Did Dan Snyder buy a hockey team?
6/21/2011 9:48:16 AM
I simply don't want LaRose on our team. I feel he is a cancer. He is always trying to start shit and then pusses out when confronted. I think we need to bring Bowman, Boychuk, and Dalpe all up from the American League. Some players that would be worth looking at in the FA world.... Higgins and Tambellini both in Vancouver and Andy Green a D man in NJ. All relatively inexpensive and better than what we have now. They're not big names, so they may like a small market. I don't expect any of it to happen.
6/21/2011 10:05:01 AM
6/21/2011 10:32:05 AM
Overpaid, too small, not talented, wrong fit, getting older (for his skill set), 2nd time testing FA means he has other priorities than the Canes, not defensive....just to name a few others.
6/21/2011 10:41:58 AM
Ville Leino out of Philly would be a nice addition. Had pretty good point production this season. Probably looking for a raise, but JR has a thing for Finns, and he shouldn't be asking for all that much.
6/21/2011 11:58:31 AM
he also has a thing for former Flyers.
6/21/2011 12:51:34 PM
Who is this Dellmer character?
6/21/2011 12:51:58 PM
6/21/2011 1:01:40 PM
Is that real? I don't want the jinx....Don't the Flyers have a thing for former Canes as well?Lavi, Kapanen, Primeau (although a trade), Leighton... there must be others
6/21/2011 2:25:58 PM
^^^ its quite obviously a picture of beer leaguers.
6/21/2011 2:30:41 PM
^^it's not real. The cover will be unveiled tomorrow night. Kapanen was also a trade, much like the myriad trades between the Canes and Flyers
