this really is a big match for novak esp if his lifelong goal was to get to number one, he loses and either nadal or fed wins the title then he's farther back again

I mean if the coverage is exclusive to your network, it seems like you could at least do it some justice by making sure the important stuff gets on-air

Li Na was just too good today, great slam run for her through Kvitova, Azarenka, Sharapova, and the defending champion.

fed still has the shots but I don't know, he seems to give away a lot more points now, I'd say it's his focus and killer instincts on the court that have declined but he should still have good shots at winning wimbledon and us open right now especially since nadal seems on a little bit of a downturn right now, IMO the old fed would have beat him today

^ I think the US Open is probably out of the question for Federer going forward since they have the dreaded Saturday semi followed by the Sunday final.

^^ you said it perfect... he just gave up too many points too quickly... when he digs in and plays out long rallies with Nadal,,, they can go 50/50 to either player. and he was working the drop shot really well pulling nadal in and creating angles for himself when he didnt throw a backhand into the net or long

Fed for Wimbledon 2011!

Nadal will go down as the best tennis player ever if his knees hold up. think he is the best no matter what. How do you say that the guy who owns the "best ever" in federer and is on pace to destry fed's record isn't the best to ever play. Why do we bland him as "the best clay courter", but people never consider how great he is on other surfaces. Probably because he started his career as a mediocre player on hard and grass, but his game has adapted. Federer wasn't that great on clay, but he too morphed his game later in his career.

"Clay courters" get a bad rep. Grass and hardcourt skills are paraller and control 3/4 of the titles we care about. A great clay courter with 6 slams on clay and 4 elsewhere (including the career grand slam) and he just turned 25... that's damn impressive.

That's one hell of a big if.

Also if Djokovic continues stepping up then even as Fed falls off (wouldn't expect this too soon if the french was any indication), he'll be getting in the way of Nadal obtaining Fed-level titles

^ he will go down IF his knees hold up. However, I personally believe that if his knees give out early, he is still the best ever.
