Lily's does not deserve the hype/title it has for best pizzaVery bland and uninspired food and the service is fucking atrocious, being a bunch of snotty hipster punks who loathe being there and doing their job.
4/24/2011 12:19:17 PM
I just don't enjoy Lilly's pizza because of their crust. It is too thick and too sweet for my preferences.I rarely, if ever have had a bad time getting served there. Then again, I rarely go there at times that they are overly busy. For future reference, if there are more than 10 people standing in line, be ready to wait 30-45 minutes unless you are getting a salad.
4/24/2011 12:23:48 PM
^^"Bland and uninspired", if only they stuck to the way everyone other pizza shop on the face of the earth makes their pizza and they'd really be something! Haha, what kind of copout, baseless criticisms.[Edited on April 24, 2011 at 12:27 PM. Reason : ff]
4/24/2011 12:26:45 PM
lol at Lilly's being bland and uninspired. where else can you go and get zucchini, ginger or prosciutto on your pizza?
4/24/2011 12:34:23 PM
yep, trolls will be trolls
4/24/2011 12:46:04 PM
^^To be fair, the post is pretty obviously just snubbing the place for being so popular with the old hipsters in Five Points. I can't imagine he intended anyone to take his criticism of the food as particularly insightful.[Edited on April 24, 2011 at 12:47 PM. Reason : v]

Man I love lily's...but I like that kind of crust
4/24/2011 2:43:42 PM
The crust is one of things I love about Lily's. Never tasted sweet to me, just soft and fluffy.

Capital Club's Easter brunch today was insanehad the roasted leg of lamb, and the gf had seared scallops in a lobster cream sauceit was so good that after we had cleaned our plates, we asked for bread to sop up the remaining sauces]
4/24/2011 5:25:04 PM
Which is better? Cardinal club or capital city club? I've had both but didn't really have areal meal at cardinal club.
4/24/2011 6:21:24 PM
I'm a big fan of CC16, that place at the top of the Wachovia building sucks though
4/24/2011 6:25:52 PM
BDubLS1 with an insanely epic fail
4/24/2011 7:40:59 PM
haha, i've tried a lot of the places named but just reserve them for a once-in-a-while occasion. I go to the other ones on a more regular basis...but tell you the truth, i'd rather have some good ol' country home cookin' over any of them.

Question: What's the best restaurant by the airport?Need to pick the girlfriend up at 5pm on a Friday and we'd rather eat than fight the rush back into Raleigh.
4/24/2011 8:59:18 PM
^Babymoon Cafe is my favorite restaurant ever! And it's basically around the corner from the airport.http://www.babymooncafe.com/

Roast Grill

So is this what a "quality" thread is? A thread that will become a total bitch thread with the OP perpetuating the bitchiness with quality posts like:
4/24/2011 9:16:32 PM
how has no one said the peddler for steak?also sushi o on glenwood has this green curry dish that is AWESOME, probably my favorite meal right now.
4/24/2011 9:27:51 PM
look, it's not necessarily a "quality thread" based on the fact that you didn't create it. However, it IS necessarily a shitty thread whenever you create it. got it?
4/24/2011 9:31:59 PM
Poole's? I mean, I know it's expensive and all, but the chef has been nominated for James Beard awards and shit.
4/24/2011 9:38:00 PM
Is there any good indian places in raleigh? I've only had it a handful of times, but have found my self wanting it recently. I guess I wouldnt know good indian from bad indian, but recommendations would be cool.
4/24/2011 9:43:14 PM
Peddler is great but in no way the same league as sullivans or angus barn.

^^^thanks for misquoting me. Why is it that every time a mainstream or chain restaurant is considered good people chastise you as a bandwagoner?

Peking Garden on Milbrook is about as good as it gets in Raleigh. They have some very authentic dishes on the chef's special list, but pretty much everything is good.
4/25/2011 10:39:24 AM
