okay i'll accept an argument about recruiting, but i will not accept that anyone on staff needs to be keep b/c of their coaching.i don't know if you've noticed, but our teams have been severely undercoached w/ the current staff.

that 2004 Alabama class...wow.bring in another like that to State please.
4/6/2011 1:35:32 AM
You know face, you're right. Harris has been vital to our vast success during his tenure. He's most definitely not coming back, fwiw.
4/6/2011 7:46:09 AM
if Harris isn't on our bench next year...I wonder if he'll be at ASU..Herb is probably begging for him.
4/6/2011 8:39:58 AM
how long does it usually take a new coach to put his staff together? should we be hearing about hirings within days or weeks?
4/6/2011 8:43:00 AM
i'd hope it would be days
4/6/2011 8:46:16 AM
4/6/2011 9:55:33 AM
Jules needs to be on this bench somewhere. He would be an incredible motivator and asset to the program (hell he already is).
4/6/2011 11:34:28 AM
but if he were on the bench, he couldn't run our summer practices.
4/6/2011 11:35:03 AM
I'm guessing we already have at least 1-2 assistants lined up, but they will all be announced at once. We obviously need to reach agreement on contract terms with them as well.
4/6/2011 1:05:29 PM
Actually by not breaking the bank on the coaching hire, hopefully we can throw some good money at the Assistants, which is what it sounds like DY is planning anyway
4/6/2011 1:07:39 PM
Digger Phelps, Hubert Davis and Jimmy Dykes
4/6/2011 1:16:22 PM
Orlando Early...
4/6/2011 2:49:41 PM
4/6/2011 2:52:30 PM
holy fucking shit, Yow wasn't kiddingEarly, Gaudio and Moxley is like the all star lineup of assistant coaches. My mind is blown!!!
4/6/2011 2:53:47 PM
sarcasm?good, but not mind-blowing.
4/6/2011 3:03:52 PM
^^ where did you hear that??[Edited on April 6, 2011 at 3:04 PM. Reason : .]

4/6/2011 3:06:47 PM
a place that shall not be namedYeah, sarcasm because Yow's attempted hype job yesterday was a bit much. It's a decent group of assistants, sure, but she said 'THE BEST COACHING STAFF IN THE NATION, NO HYPERBOLE"
4/6/2011 3:07:55 PM
Gaudio himself is a lot to excited about as an assistant. Both he and Gottfried are good recruiters, if the other guys are good basketball minds who know how to teach players then I'll be excited.
4/6/2011 3:13:14 PM
it is a pretty solid group, but yeah she over-hyped it.i'd like to see some confirmation. any other sources besides Gunter?
4/6/2011 3:14:12 PM
until you tell me exactly who WILLGUNTER247 is and why i should believe him, no.
4/6/2011 3:14:14 PM
4/6/2011 3:14:47 PM
who has a more experienced assistants group in the ACC?All of these guys have real coaching experience and I don't mean the kind that comes from being a basketball player under Coach K and being given a job.[Edited on April 6, 2011 at 3:16 PM. Reason : .]
4/6/2011 3:16:04 PM
I don't know much about Rob Moxley...but I'd be happy with Gaudio and Early.
4/6/2011 3:21:04 PM
I don't know the name of a single big name assistant coach and that qualifies me to post in this thread.
4/6/2011 3:22:52 PM
Philip Pearson would be nice....
4/6/2011 3:25:14 PM
4/6/2011 3:28:22 PM
great.
4/6/2011 4:20:53 PM
A fine collection of coaches indeed!
4/6/2011 4:25:54 PM
damn you fuckers are on top of it:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orlando_Early
4/6/2011 4:27:09 PM
What about da jules from harlem?plz to hire
4/6/2011 4:27:28 PM
Jules isn't done playing yet so don't hold your breath
4/6/2011 4:29:36 PM
Speaking of Jules...http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hodgeju01.html
4/6/2011 4:32:25 PM
thing is, David Glenn and Adam/Joe both talked multiple times about how Sidney Lowe had some of the lowest amount of support from his assistants than the majority of coaches around the country, and definitely in the ACC. The fact that Gottfried had success in the past, and our potential assistants have experience (and hopefully will be "specialists" in one way or another) makes me very optimistic about the future.[Edited on April 6, 2011 at 4:34 PM. 4/6/2011 4:33:37 PM
haha i just got called out
4/6/2011 4:33:43 PM
Damn, we're going to have an SEC derived basketball staff before we know it
4/6/2011 4:34:50 PM
Rumors flying about Jim Harrick (sr) being an assistant... don't know what to think about that.. great coach, but controversy surrounds him
4/6/2011 8:40:34 PM
controversy also surrounds jim calhoun and john calipari. get him in asap.
4/6/2011 8:45:16 PM
^ i wouldn't mind.. would be interesting to see how our beloved media would treat thatthe n and o would have a permanent stakeout at weisiger-brown
4/6/2011 8:46:56 PM
If we get Harrick, get ready for the "how many points is a 3 point shot worth" question.
4/6/2011 8:48:06 PM
^that was jr.. but yea.. gold and ovius already were going on about harrick (jr) today when they were talking about Gottfried's coaching lineage.
4/6/2011 8:49:34 PM
i'm all for harrickhe's probably too old to bother getting caught up in recruiting violations anyway
4/6/2011 9:01:55 PM
I know the test and "class" were done by Jr at Georgia. I'm just saying that if he (Sr) comes to State, the way he left Georgia will be brought up over and over. I do not want to see Jim Harrick on the bench for us.
4/6/2011 9:08:02 PM
That and he got his last 3 schools on probation.
4/6/2011 9:13:46 PM
the school that just won the national title is on probation
