I think its a great 5-6 year hire for Miami. Surprisingly good.

he's better than haith IMO. he's been to the tourney 3 times in 7 years, including a final 4 and sweet sixteen, while haith only went once. this is an upgrade, albeit moderate

Of course he's better than Haith.

can't wait until they hire John Brady in 5 or 6 years

That is a ridiculous comparison.

I know Larranaga won't be at Miami very long, but I think this is a fairly good hire for them (it is Miami basketball, after all).

he's older, and wasn't getting paid all that well.. he probably sees this as a way to maximize his earnings for the last few years of his career before retirement (in addition to the other issues FTA).

I bet he was pissed at how much money Shaka Smart got and was trying to get a raise out of GMU. Then he realized that VCU's AD is just retarded and no sane CAA school is gonna pay that much $Texas

Paul Hewitt to George Mason. Interesting and, IMO, very good hire for them.

Are academics not important to George Mason? I thought their standards were pretty high. I mean Theodis Tarver (spelling?) could not even read.
