You can't have sex before you're married. Oh, but you can marry like 20 women, so it evens out. Welcome to BYU.

I learned everything I know about Mormons from South Park and that girl on The Real World.

3/4/2011 1:10:10 AM
Some of you are just plain ignorant. If you don't understand it, well it's just stupid The whole coffee/tea/caffeine/alcohol/tobacco thing is pretty simple: it's not good for the body, so you shouldn't partake of it. And that's nothing new either geniuses, any health professional will tell you that. The real world girl got kicked out because on real world, you had coed living arrangements, that is also against the honor code at BYU. I agree that BYU is pretty strict and I don't agree with the level of strictness, but I do understand why the honor code is the way it is. It wasn't for me, so I didn't go. Had I chosen to, I would have had to accept and abide by the rules. It's not rocket science folks.
3/4/2011 9:51:18 AM
I think everyone understands the rules.
3/4/2011 11:38:12 AM
By not including junk food or excessive internet usage on their list of vices, they're unintentionally pushing their student body to be obese troglodytes with limited social interaction.Kudos.
3/4/2011 11:41:33 AM
^They've also got church attendance as a part of the honor code, so that will increase social interaction.^^^I would have never gone for the no beard policy. Four years of never being able to be lazy and just growing a beard. Also, I believe at the time they had, or there were rumors that they had a no shorts policy. I can understand the no 80's style shorts, but normal shorts? It gets hot in the summer - even in Utah.Edit:Looked it up. No beards unless for medical or religious reasons. I'd have to convert to Nazarene for a while. Knee length shorts allowed.[Edited on March 4, 2011 at 12:04 PM. Reason : -]

That will just prove to be a minor inconvenience when scheduling WoW raids.

3/4/2011 11:51:39 AM
Yeah, each of the things you've listed aren't objectively bad for you in moderate quantities. Just like everything else. Dogmatic rules about what you can and can't eat/fuck/whatever are stupid unequivocally. Don't try to act like they're based on anything resembling sense.
3/4/2011 12:33:56 PM
Why the fuck would Anyone want to go to that god-damn school?! NO fucking way...stupid ass honor code!
3/4/2011 1:01:40 PM

Yes moderate quantities in and of itself are not that harmful, but clearly, some people have difficulty staying within those moderate quantities, so some would argue it is best to refrain from them period. I do agree green tea and some of the other herbal teas are an exception.

3/4/2011 4:56:31 PM
So what do people eat and drink at these basketball games? When you go to the RBC Center there are plenty of sweet things to eat and drink. Soda and pop corn just go together.

3/5/2011 12:14:28 AM
well, that's exactly what like 95% of tww does when someone, God forbid, mentions that they are a Christian or have Christian beliefs too. Mormons aren't exempt on tdub!do they monitor student internet usage? The internet is bad for you.
3/5/2011 12:17:06 AM
3/5/2011 12:29:26 AM

3/5/2011 12:39:52 AM
you are right.I forgot that this was sports talk and not chit chatNo matter how you spin it, the dude knew what the rules were, broke them and then got caught.I think that ESPN and the media is glorifying BYU's actions in response to the OSU shit that went down with selling jerseys.
