G.O.D and I went to a pretty good sushi place in greensboro, it was empty except for us (we were there kinda early on a sunday though) but it was extremely good

I'm a little wary of trying one with asparagus. I do love asparagus, but I just can't bring myself to order a roll with it in there. Do they steam it? Is it raw? or is it cooked to mush ?
Sushi Republic in G'boo is pretty good. And Imperial Koi isn't too bad either though they mostly do rolls
1/20/2011 10:32:34 AM
^^ It's lightly steamed. I normally don't get rolls with asparagus either but whatever it was he made me last night was delicioso.
1/20/2011 10:34:33 AM
danggggg
1/20/2011 10:34:51 AM
You should go anyway and sit in front of Richard, ask for a Kachi Kachi roll, and watch him go, "GODDAMMIT KAIRU-CHAN " hahaha
1/20/2011 10:37:36 AM
1/20/2011 10:39:21 AM
ASK FOR THE COOCHIE COOCHIE ROLL AND SAY KYLE SENT ME?? OK!
1/20/2011 10:40:22 AM

1/20/2011 10:41:35 AM
XTRA CARDBOARD!!!
1/20/2011 10:43:13 AM
omg. I cannot wait for sushi tonight.
1/20/2011 10:47:40 AM
Kachi Kachi is kind of inbetween crispy and crunchy in Japanese. And I guarantee he won't remember what's in the roll because every time I order it I have to remind him So if you're actually going to go and order it you better ask me to write down what's in it or else who knows what you'll end up with lol.
1/20/2011 10:53:53 AM
Do fat people like sushi? I just realized last night I've never met a fat person who liked sushi. To test my theory at work, I asked my gigantic coworker and she say "Ew no, I ain't eatin no raw fish!"
1/20/2011 10:58:17 AM
My sister likes sushi. She's a big girl.
1/20/2011 10:58:53 AM
Yeah but is she fat? There is a difference between fat (obese) people and people with endomorphic genes.
1/20/2011 10:59:56 AM
That would be a yes.
1/20/2011 11:02:51 AM
Damn it. My theory is ruined. Tell your fat sister thanks.
1/20/2011 11:04:19 AM
ok, I will
1/20/2011 11:08:27 AM
lol
1/20/2011 11:08:44 AM
billybob you need to narrow down the type of sushi to the healthy kind
1/20/2011 11:09:38 AM
this is true. I don't think my sister eats nigiri or sashimi or whatever any of those are.
1/20/2011 11:10:35 AM
I am not well versed in the difference between "healthy" sushi and the americanized stuff. All I know is that they didn't come up with deep fried rolls in Japan.
1/20/2011 11:13:31 AM
anything with actual raw fish, rice on the inside, or just straight raw fish and nothing else are the most traditional forms of sushi. anything with crab in it (which is fake crab meat) (read california rolls) are typically terrible
1/20/2011 11:16:08 AM
even americanized can be healthy...just avoid the fried, mayo, cream cheese, etc
1/20/2011 11:18:18 AM
so are sushi threads the new bbq threads
1/20/2011 11:18:48 AM
I'm fat and I love sushi! I shall be eating some tonight!
1/20/2011 11:19:46 AM
I think its the original of all vs threads...its hard to get much more east vs west than sushi
1/20/2011 11:20:00 AM
you mean avoid the good stuffs, lolI like both kinds really, but I tend to get the fancy bad for you stuff at bogo, because I don't want to get the cheap stuff plus a fancy one and end up sort of wasting money.I get rainbow rolls at like harris teeter or whatever. Those are pretty much my favorite from there.
1/20/2011 11:20:19 AM
My default is spicey tuna, preferably with a little crunch to it (whatever they use to make it crunchy...I forget what its called). And I will not touch imitation crab. That shit is an abomination!
1/20/2011 11:22:27 AM
tempura flakesand i like fake crab, but real crab is better.
1/20/2011 11:23:09 AM
1/20/2011 11:23:42 AM
1/20/2011 11:27:00 AM
exactly
1/20/2011 11:27:24 AM
if we order 14 rolls will we get a boat?
1/20/2011 11:44:58 AM
At Waraji you would. Don't know about other places.
1/20/2011 11:45:38 AM
I've never ordered enough for a boat. This is srs business. I have no idea if sushi nine does it, though. I know sushi thai does, and they own the place.
1/20/2011 11:46:51 AM
Split a boat for 2 a couple times at Shushi Thai it was yummy!
1/20/2011 11:51:29 AM
You know, I wish sushi restaurants wouldn't call crabstick crab on their menus. It's false advertising I miss getting real crab in sushi restaurants Only place I've been to in America that had real crab was in Seattle lol.
1/20/2011 12:03:35 PM
If you go to the really fancy Japanese restaurants, they use real crab. I don't know if they have any fancy places in Raleigh though.
1/20/2011 12:15:18 PM
I also hate the damn shrimp nigri....some tiny ass shrimp split in 1/2 with the tail still on...
1/20/2011 12:48:10 PM
^^ Yeah I don't think they do. Which makes sense. It's not like we're close to anywhere that is catching fresh snow crab
1/20/2011 2:57:29 PM
4 hours! yum!
1/20/2011 3:00:55 PM
blah
1/20/2011 3:01:31 PM
open your mind, man. you'll never enjoy it with an attitude like that.
1/20/2011 3:02:41 PM
I'm not gonna enjoy it anyways. free wings ftw.
1/20/2011 3:05:50 PM
oh well, that means more sushi for me! woo!
