Those stairs are like non-regulation height or something

I went sliding down them freshman year and knocked down Chukwu

+1

It's a shame they're taking it down. The whole background on how it got built was enough for me to like it.

It can be an exhibit in the Talley art museum

The main thing I remember about this building was that my roommate told me when you go into the bathroom there was "toilets as far as the eye can see."

i had a differential equations class in there. the room was 10 feet deep and about 100 feet long. and curved along an arc. the professor would start an equation at one end of the blackboard and you couldn't fucking see the other end of the equation.

:grr:

a hateful building, ugly, poorly designed by a bunch of retards, an embarrassment and an eyesore..... and yet i'm sad to hear it's going to go.

Agreed. I had a couple of classes there, TA'ed for a couple of classes, and also taught a couple of classes, from 2000 till 2002.

Agrrrrrrreed. I pointed that out on here in, I don't know, 2001 or so. This was almost my exact post: "Any architect worth their salt will tell you that those steps are too high."

A terrible design from a usability perspective, though I suppose space efficient. And man oh man what an ugly building inside, though the outside is kind of cool.

I'll be a little sad to see it go, I admit. Though I always hated having classes there.

what the fuck, where is the imagination in this thread? the only real problem was the stairs were like 4 feet each step but at least that got you a workout, other than that it was enjoyable if you appreciate something unique, I always wondered if anything was hidden at the mysterious center of the building but I think it was just a bunch of old shit they threw in there to waste

I couldn't stand when I would drop a pencil and it would roll all the way to the front of the room.

I remember finding water running down the ramp one day... and as I was walking up, I saw a bit of toilet paper float by.

I didn't mind the building itself...but I didn't like the class I had in there. And the chairs were like sitting on a rock.

I remember a time or two when my almost empty coffee thermos would tip over at the foot of my chair...I sat in the back and could watch it go down the room.

Not me, but I witnessed a chick in one of my classes not two feet in front of me fall from halfway down the bottom stairs and split her face wide open on the bottom

chick was bawling and looked like a case of domestic violence for about a month

You know the alumni association is working on this, right? They will also sell you a slab of Harrelson and your name on the brick of the new building.

Some of the classes in there felt like going through domestic violence. I'm sure it acclimated the girl to some of those math classes quickly, especially if she was in engineering.

They shouldn't have told anyone that it was being demolished.

Instead they just needed to bring in some real pros to demo it in one night, then act surprised the next morning and tell everyone "It must have flown home! We knew this day would come!"

I hated harrelson. The only girls bathroom took forever to get too. In the time I took to pee i had missed 1/4 of my 50 minute class.

Still, i dont want to see it go

I came to post about the stairs.

I think like over 50% of my classes were in that building, hell my departmental graduation was in a room with like 6 foot ceilings but I will miss thee.

But you can only see to the wall in harrelson in the bathroom, because it's a fucking circle! And the bathroom stalls and urinals are along the wall! The feat is not amazing.

Harrelson probably has the same policy I have when it comes to women, "NO FATTIES!"

Why do you think the stairs were such a bitch? The stalls so narrow? The ramp such a hike? And pretty much all the classrooms have floors at an incline (sure, it's easy going down, but when you have to walk back up it at some time).

I didn't read this thread. But Harrelson is a Dracula. Its not dead until you see the body, with a stake in its heart, and a severed head.

Don't believe until I see it.

Drank with my roommate the night before the first day of classes freshman year. His sister left him a case of Miller Light as a welcome to college gift.

Next morning, I had calculus 2 at 8am. Felt the beer shits coming.

Needless to say, the journey to find the men's bathroom was quite unpleasant.

I for one am for the hard cramped seats and miles of urinals Harrelson provided, and if you can't handle the 12" stairs take the ramp whoosies. This was a building for college students were college students, and by that I mean men.
