Was about to buy this before I read about the DLCI really hate EA

DLC is no big deal. They give you 15 courses, the rest are optional, and only a few bucks a piece.I'm struggling with putting but have got to the point where I can shoott mid 60's with my created guy on a regular basis. Caddy is getting on my nerves.[Edited on April 4, 2011 at 10:35 AM. Reason : x]

Ya I am with you the putting is becoming more managable but still can be incredibly frustrating. As for DLC I was just glad to see a couple of the fantasy course back like The Predator I always thought those were a cool idea.

15 courses is probably enough, even though that's about how many were in '04. The thing about the DLC that turned me off was that I read some of the downloadable courses are used in events during your career, so you just have to skip over them or pay $4 or however much. That and I don't really want to support EA's bullshit of releasing 75% of a game for 100% of the price any more.[Edited on April 4, 2011 at 11:05 AM. Reason : Putting on the demo seemed hard as fuck. First hole I was on in two, then six or seven putted.]

Picked it up last night. I completely suck at putting and the caddie suggestions are god aweful so far.

Putting just takes practice, I'm pretty good by now, and your caddie's abilities tend to levels up like you do, I almost never used his suggestions at the beginning of the game but halfway through the PGA Tour I'm almost always defaulting to his suggestions until I get very close to the hole.

so serious question: how much does the game "cost" with DLC to get every course that's on the tour? I hate skipping events.

Ok, so if anyone wants it and hasn't bought it yet, you can get it at target or on Amazon for 37 bucks this week (free shipping from amazon). I just ordered it- which means I can afford to get all the DLC and justify it as paying full price for the game (although I hope that later on they will offer the courses in some sort of bundle package).http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=2852133ps: thank you ncstatetke for informing me of this deal!

^^ All told, with all 35 courses, its 100+, but definitely worth it IMO. Tiger is once every three years but for me anyway, so this should last till 2014 or so.And with putting, I find this game more than any other for me is helped by playing on a big TV. Even tho its the same relative size on the screen, seeing the yellow sweet spot menu bigger on the screen makes it much easier for me to knock them down. I can regularly break 60 in the living room but I'm several shots worse on the smaller screen.

do you use the controller or the Move? I'm going to try to solely use the Move
4/20/2011 9:15:55 AM
Only choice is a stick since I have it for 360. Move sounds cools but I doubt I could shoot as well as I do with the stick. I suck enough at real golf that I like to go as low as possible when I play the game.

ah, yeah... do they have it configured for the Kinect yet? I know last years version for the Move was pretty weak (was a patch they put out after the move release), but I've heard good things about this onethey will even have Move only tournaments online and junk like that
