I still think James Blake's EPs are way better than the full-length.

new Destroyer album is great.

I'm not a big fan of the James Blake full length thus far, but I'm going to give it a few more listens.

i like the james blake full-length a lot, and i like the first three ep's a lot

the full-length is pretty different from the EPs, but i'm not really sure which i like more

Yeah, it's sad; I'm not really feeling most of it. On one hand I was excited they didn't try to re-tread their older material at their age but on the other hand I wasn't really happy with the result...

I still absolutely adore everything they did through On A Wire though and the first few tracks of Guilt Show are worth listening to once in awhile. Still glad I made the trip to Atlanta to see them last year.

this new Cut Copy album doesn't touch In Ghost Colours imo. a lot of it is pretty ~. IGC had like 6 or 7 songs that could have been big singles. it's not bad at all, but definitely a bit of a letdown comparably.

I think the first 4 songs are all great and then it falls off into mediocrity

should have re-recorded some of the great songs from the first album

i really dig the smith westerns album. planning to go to the 506 show - will be curious to see how they pull off some of these songs without all the studio polish.

i had someone recommend that smith westerns album to me yesterday. i only listened to 2 of the songs on the NPR stream, but i liked what i heard. nothing that blew me away, but once i get through some of these other albums in my queue i'll grab it and check it out.

Oh, I wouldn't classify Lykke Li as a guilty pleasure. Maybe that's just me, though.

Also, I'm way into the new Cut Copy, but for different reasons than In Ghost Colours. Zonoscope is more authentically 80s and I personally dig that about it.

new get up kids is growing on me some. Still isn't close to anything up through On A Wire but I definitely like it better than I initially did; at least glad they tried some new direction. However, I am very confused how they will pull this off on the tour for the album considering James Dewees can't play on the tour now and the record is so keyboard driven ha

This new Ak/Fam is fucking incredible. Their best album to date, IMO.

There's something for everybody on it. If they don't receive a shit-ton of recognition for this record, it'll be a travesty.

Talib Kweli came out with a new CD today...Gutter Rainbows. I've yet to download it, but I plan on doing so. It's an independent record he released. And it's digital only in the US.

^^^ nah. pretty sure there are other haters out there. they are just too scared to come forward

^^ i spend very, very little time on pitchfork so, yea. i have no idea what their feelings are about them.

i am also adding the decemberists to the vomit list. there was a time where i enjoyed the decemberists kinda. that time is over (well it has been over, but has just now progressed from indifferent to vomit)

p.s. i am really enjoying the new akron/family after focusing on listening to it. i hope they have another hopscotch performance (or day show even) because i only caught the end of their set last year. i don't remember what else was that night but apparently, i went somewhere else. the war on drugs? i don't remember at all.
