http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/30/citadel-sequence-cut-from-mass-effect-2-returns-in-mass-effect-3/

Quote :
"A segment of the Mass Effect story set in the Citadel, originally planned for Mass Effect 2, is finally being made for inclusion in Mass Effect 3, lead writer Mac Walters told OXM. "There was a Mass Effect 2 plot that was a kind of callback to the first Mass Effect that was going to be on the Citadel, and we cut it," he said. "But now it's made a resurrection in Mass Effect 3, so I'm happy, but I can't say what it is."

That's right. Content that was conceived for the second game, and refers to the first game, is now in the third. And speaking of things that have been around since the first game, Walters acknowledged the difficulty of continuing the Mass Effect story after the second game's ending, which can kill off important characters.

"The classic example [of a hurdle faced in writing ME3] is 'Hey, let's make the ending of Mass Effect 2 a suicide mission where all your henchmen can possibly die, and Shepard can even die!'" Walters said. "Oh right... and then we're gonna do another game after that. What the hell are we gonna do with all those guys?"

Unfortunately, Walters didn't go on from there. We're going to have to wait until March to find out just what the hell does happen to all those guys. "

Interesting

Yeah that is something I've been wondering all along. I have a paragon in ME2 where all of the crew made it to the end. I am gonna replay as renegade before ME3 comes out and have as many people die as possible. I probably won't even activate Grunt or Legion.

My PS3 got the yellow light of death and I lost my bad ass bitch Shepard and my hero good guy Shepard.

I really should back up my saves like all the smart youngs kids do.

Does the talent point glitch for ME2 still work on Xbox? I'm considering giving this another full playthrough before the next game comes out, but I do so love the cheats in these games. Expat was my very best friend in the first one.

Sounds like voice commands work pretty well, but they're very specific.

Supposedly it's being done by a separate studio.

Bioware has 6 studios now. Some are just random EA owned studios that they slapped the Bioware label on, but I suppose they are all under Bioware direction.

I got a used copy of Mass Effect 1 for $12 at Gamestop in 2008, before it was cool.

ME2 was just meh... less RPG and the plot was stupid.

ME3 looks like its going with the sexy action blockbuster sex in space deal. They got the IGN boobs chick in the game, some jersey shore guy. Probably going to be stupid but fun.

The only problem (I love this game) I had with the plot, was that is seemed like 95% of it was forming your team.

They have added more class powers, upgraded the combat system to make action more fluid and the fighting more fun, and improved the graphics.

But I mean if you didn't like the first two you might as well just skip it. It's still a sequel.

I loved the first two.

But, at least for PC games, you don't get true sequels that have the same graphic system and little changes to the story line. Typically there are massive upgrades to graphic, story line, enemies etc.

The 2nd one was fine, but it was just more of the same with a new story line. And quite frankly the 2nd one had a worse inventory system and enemy.

The original mass effect blew me away when the Reaper revealed itself along with the reason for their existance, and had one of the coolest villains ever in Sarin.(sp?)

I guess its entirely a function of only having been on one console for all 3 games. And you dont really want to mess with something that works well. Drive it with plot instead of shiny blue things.

/random thoughts

I feel like I need to go back and play ME1 again. I can never really remember the story, it just became one big haze of some plant fucking around with zombies and spaceships and an alien in order to blow up the Citadel and then go to earth to destroy all of humanity

or was that Halo 2/3

I mean there was a big plant screwing with people in ME1, but it was only on one planet and wasn't a huge part of the plot.

Finished the single player portion of the demo. Went with the role-playing setting and it felt a lot like Mass Effect 2. Not necessarily a bad thing I guess.

The multiplayer portion is locked until the 17th unless you have Battlefield 3, which is pretty lame IMO.

Meh a lot of stuff. I don't want to be a meganerd and type an essay about it. There are tons of nerds that have done that already though better than I could.

^^watching part 1 now, the whole premise seems a lot like the guy who reviewed all the Star Wars prequels. And not nearly as funny. His sarcasm is tiresome.

But he's making some good points

I watched the first part.

his voice is too soft, the music too loud (and the comical music doesn't do anything for his points), and the points he was making were nitpicky and easily answered, sometimes answered within the plot in a part he just doesn't bother covering.

ME2 did have a much weaker plot than the first one, but it was far from one of the worst of all time, this dude is just trying to ride on the coattails of redlettermedia and failing spectacularly.

Yea the EA servers are shit as usual.

The multiplayer is pretty fun when not too laggy. Pretty challenging just beating silver so far. Don't see it being nearly as fun as a spec ops or zombies mode since it gets old pretty fast, but its a step in the right direction.
