I'd be embarrassed if I'm dating this bimbo. Somebody send this thread to her bf.

Give the girl a break, god damn. Not everyone knows the "right" way to handle every new situation they are presented with. Give the girl credit for doing some scientific experimentation to see if her card denial was just a glitch, then calling the bank, then following the banks information back towards the source of the problem... For fucks sake, it's not like she cried and sat in her room for four days.that being said, OP... Call the bank first next time, I'll assume you learned that lesson the hard way.Lastly, I'd call the third party company delivering your mail and make sure they know at the dispatch level that you are in your apartment or whatever now and that they should deliver mail there.and then move on.

^ I highly doubt she would be getting any shit if she hadn't started this whole thread saying she wanted to sue the USPS.

get a mailbox at a Mailboxes Etc or UPS Store. Not only did I never have issues with mail or packages arriving, but I got to know the three employees (including owner) of that store. It's just nice being recognized and treated well, which I have never experienced with any USPS employee, no matter how nice I try to be to them.

The USPS people at the Westgate office are always real nice to me. Probably helps we've been using them ever since it opened

first class mail gets returned, the rest of your bulk mail will still be delivered
12/9/2010 2:45:29 PM
If you want to keep a paper trail switch all your bank accounts and credit cards to electronic statements. Then when they're emailed to you just print them out.Problem solved.

I'd try talking to the supervisor or mail person. There may have been some previous incident that caused them to hold the stuff back but if you talk to them it may be easily corrected. Something could of happened with someone else in the past and they play it safe now.. maybe even so they don't get sued.

I, too, had a problem with the USPS: A few years ago I was moving and trying to sell a lot of stuff on craigslist/ebay/etc, so I decided to get a PO box. I thought it would be easier since I was changing my address and if I got a stable place to get money sent to then nothing would get lost or delayed... ha!So I fill out the online form, submit a payment, and print out the receipt. The next morning I go to the PO before work to get my offical PO box keys (yay!). But it's not that easy... I walked up to the counter, handed the lady behind the counter the receipt and told her I was here for my PO box keys. She handed it back to me and said "I don't know how to do this." I told her that I did everything online and the receipt even has instructions on it - all she has to do is give me key ####. She responed with "yeah I don't know how to do that online stuff." There was a line of people behind me so I asked if there was anyone here who did know, and she said no but she would call her boss. ugh.. I just took my last final today and I'm tired of typing. long story a little less long - I eventually got my keys but not a single piece of mail (it ALL got sent back). Then I took action!!!!! Just kidding. I was just like "oh well, that's something I'll never do again." TOFTT.

My friend got hit by a postal truck while riding his bike. So, I think that you can sue them.
12/10/2010 12:15:53 AM
The post office did not cancel your credit cards for you, blame your banks for your debilitating mental anguish. Furthermore, just because shit happens to you does not automatically mean that there is someone out there you can sue, just grow the fuck up and learn from what happened.
