2 pages of complete bullshit

I sent an email to the dude as well, here was the reply
11/25/2010 11:36:27 AM
Finesse style of play = lower statsteam HAS to beat Duke in order to become bowl eligiblesounds like a great way to play as a linebacker...
11/25/2010 11:50:54 AM
So apparently we're handing out college football awards based on NFL potential now. The end is near.

The UNC bias for McD's AA bullshit is now seeping into the butkus.

11/26/2010 1:10:52 PM
^ah the ole 6-6 rule change. I forgot about that.team HAS to beat Duke in order to become bowl eligible have a winning record
11/26/2010 1:47:32 PM
Technically they can be "bowl eligible" with a 5-7 record, if there aren't enough teams with .500/+ records.
11/26/2010 7:02:10 PM
11/26/2010 9:48:02 PM
wait. isn't this for the best linebacker? how in the fuck can this not be based on stats? who cares what the player looks like? that's much less important than what he actually accomplishes. I'd love to see Nate get this, but with this finalist list, this award has lost credibility. this award is easily a toss up between nate and luke.
11/26/2010 10:14:30 PM
lets be honest. there's no way he wins the award, but for him to be snubbed in favor of a few of the guys in front of him is a complete fucking joke
11/26/2010 10:48:34 PM
I emailed Ron Arp as well and he deferred immediately to the write in route. Does anybody know if we would be writing in Nate for the final award or is this just to determine the finalists? Lol at Arp answering emails to wolfpack faithful on his bberry at 10:45 on a Friday night.

this kinda reminds me of Rivers not being a Heisman finalist
11/26/2010 11:19:39 PM
^^^^As Treetwista mentioned earlier, Arp mentioned not hearing any uproar except for Nate being left off. I wonder if this is the most he has received feedback from a player being left off...And leave it to a football player from UNC as being described as playing with finesse...[Edited on November 27, 2010 at 3:41 AM. Nate wins the College Football Performance Award.http://www.gopack.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/120810aaa.htmlFrom the article:
12/8/2010 1:54:53 PM
haha that's a big middle finger to the butkus
12/8/2010 1:57:01 PM
^^ It is fitting that Irving would win that over the Butkus seeing that some engineer probably designed that formula as opposed to the mickey mouse shit that the Butkus committee uses.
12/8/2010 2:23:16 PM
^^^i'm just glad that finesse wasn't part of the grading. definitely dodged a bullet there.
12/8/2010 2:42:28 PM
i know it was a Dinich production, but Bruce Carter was left off the ESPN All-ACC team as well lol
12/8/2010 2:46:36 PM
btw Von Miller ended up winning the Butkus

at the time those selections were announced, Kuechly (a former recruit prospect for us, so was the dude at MD now) had more tackles than three people on the list combined, one of who won the award.S. M. H.
