I will say that I purchased one of the Phiten brand necklaces that alot of MLB players wear. That was about two years ago now.. at the time I was a Chronic Pain patient - mostly nerve pain due to various factors. I've gotten better now, but at the time my nervous system was highly up-regulated and I could feel almost every little bit of muscle tension or nerve tightness in my entire body.

Wearing the necklace didn't help at all, but interestingly enough did have a very quick negative effect on me. After putting it on for a few minutes I could begin to feel increased nerve pain/activity in various places and it would get worse over time.

What this means I have no idea.. but I did find it interesting that it had *some* affect on my body. It's something that I doubt healthy people would be able to notice.

One of my friends sold magnetic bracelets at the mall last month.
He basically did the balance trick on people all day long.

iirc, he said the ones he sold were $19.95 each, but if you buy three you get two for free. His commission was $5 per bracelet including the free ones, so each time he suckered someone into buying them as Christmas gifts on the buy three deal he made $25.

Wow... this is shocking to me that people in the US believe in this shit. And you have that video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gIMxjr3n5U which seems like it was made in a sophisticated modern facility, not some back alley.

I wouldn't be shocked if it was a product sold in some 3rd world country with a low literacy rate and massive poverty and underdevelopment, but the US???

So what the fuck is the point of going to school and college, if people are going to believe in hocus pocus like this anyway?

And I don't see what's new about this thing anyway... magnetic chains and bracelets have been sold for decades which also resonate with your energy at special frequencies and heal you and all that bullshit... this time, some company just decided to make a cool looking one made of rubber so people with active lifestyles can wear it, and they gave it a cool name.

Fuck this.

Quote :
"What the hell is wrong with people who have even a 1% inkling that this MAY be real? Any time you see any bullshit like this it is fake.

FAKE.

Don't just be skeptical, be outright pissed off about it. Shoot people who try to sell this shit, set them on fire while they bleed out, and piss on their corpse. Don't give them the opportunity to spread the stupid disease even further."

Can I sell some of you a Bio Disc? It is worth reading this, just so you can facepalm yourself:

http://www.qnet.net/products/energy/amezcua/bio_disc/en/

How about a Straw Tube?

http://www.qnet.net/products/energy/amezcua/straw_tube/en/

Check out all the 'energy' products in the links... definitely worth a LOL.

""The Psychotronic Money Magnet™ Ultra Advanced Version 1.0

The Ultimate in Financial Abundance Engineering Technology

Through the aid of spiritual guidance given to us by the Archangel Mikhail we have discovered a uniquely different and improved method of creating our well known Psychotronic Money Magnet™. The new method was delivered to us through an exceptionally gifted channel and we were astounded by the information that we were privileged to have received. According to the information the new Scalar Vector Programming Method™ which we have adopted can raise the subtle energy characteristics and the manifesting capabilities of The Psychotronic Money Magnet™ more than one hundred fold !

It was explained to us by the Archangel Mikhail that mankind was to be allowed to see the truth that we all have a connection to the source of all and that abundance is the natural state of the universe. We all have access to that state through meditation. The Psychotronic Money Magnet™ merely super-connects our consciousness to the source of all abundance more quickly and easily than meditation or any other known method.

CNBC's Sports Product of the year:

http://www.cnbc.com/id/40842683

I think this quote says all there is to the effectiveness of the product:

Quote :
"“When people ask us questions about whether it works or not, our response is simply on-field authenticity,” said Art Chou, senior vice president of product for Rawlings, which is owned by Jarden. “It is worn by tons of athletes at the pro level and they say it works and many of them wear it for free, so we feel good about that.”"

Several times throughout the article the company provides no proof that the bracelet actually works. They just mention that it is worn by dozens of athletes and that proves that it works.

At least they are making money:
Quote :
"he company says it will do more than $35 million in sales, that’s up from $5.6 million last year and $187,000 in total revenues in 2008."

^ They should be fined [and jailed] for perverting the course of knowledge and science, and furthering ignorance and alchemy, setting generations of children back.

Quote :
"“So we see that David Beckham has the product and we see a picture of him wearing it,” Rodarmel said. “Then, the next week, we see his kids are wearing it and his friends his pictured with are wearing it.”"

Yeah his kids are wearing it because their dad is an idiot who can afford to spend $1,000 on rubber bands, not because the kids are like "it improves our balance and strength" As for why he is wearing it, well, placebo effect, idiocy, lack of formal education, etc.

maybe maybe not, but at least they have thousands of years of history behind them.

you can't distill thousands of years of philosophy into a friggin rubber band and then claim it will make you stronger.

I know it's snake oil bullshit but given that the placebo effect is a real thing, if there is some way to harness that intangible mind-body connection, I'd be all for it.

But I have waay too cynical and scientific of a mind so I'd never be able to believe it in my mind to even get the placebo effect.

Hah perhaps Samson's strength tied to his long hair is the first Biblical evidence of the placebo effect

Guys, I feel the need to share with you a secret tool that has helped me in the past. It's called, the twenty dollar bill. Now I'm not psychic and I don't claim to understand the power which is contained in one of these devices, but anyone who has carried a twenty dollar bill can certainly attest to its powerful abilities.

A man in Kansas City was hungry until he got the twenty dollar bill. Using the power of the bill he obtained three pizzas from Dominos and his hunger was cured.

A man in Iowa, whose feet were riddled with blisters, used the power of the bill to obtain neosporin, bandaids, and socks which cured his damaged feet.

But the greatest testament of all comes to you from right here in your own city. Imagine being lost, stranded, and hungry in downtown Raleigh at two in the morning. That's the exact situation our most recent convert found himself in. The twenty dollar bill, used in conjunction with his cellphone, brought a man in a yellow car who drove him to Cookout and dropped him off at his house.

I'm glad to be able to offer this product to you today for the low low price of $twentynineninetyfive. You won't be disappointed.
