We beat MD and VT -> Orange BowlWe beat MD and lose to VT -> Chic-fil-AMD beats FSU and MD beats NCSU -> Champs SportsFSU beats MD and MD beats NCSU -> Sun (because we drop behind FSU and MD). I guess the Champs Sports bowl COULD pick us over MD.

anyone wanna update the opponents portion of the bowl game scenarios? (i.e. who is currently the SEC#5 or Big East #2, etc.)I'd like to see who we would potentially play if we landed in the Orange, Chic, Champs or Sun Bowlshow badass would it be to play Boise State in the Orange Bowl? We would likely get blown out, but thats amazing exposure for us. and how much press would we get if we actually beat Boise State and gave them their first loss in two years?
11/20/2010 8:54:00 PM
Boise will likely jump TCU if they win out and end up in the Rose should auburn and Oregon win out. That could leave us with TCU though
11/20/2010 9:04:20 PM
ah, that kinda sucks. Still exposure, but Boise seems to be the "sexier" team out of the twoand dont we have some bad blood with Boise State from back when Amato was here? Didnt he call out Petersen for being afraid to schedule ACC teams or something like that? This was the same year as when Boise beat Oklahoma on the Statue of Liberty play I believe (or it couldve been the year before)
11/20/2010 9:20:17 PM
^I think your confusing Boise with Fresno State and it was about non-qualifiers. Pat Hill then said we should visit them. You might be talking about something else, but there was a spat with Fresno State and Hill.
11/20/2010 10:06:34 PM
i thought that comment was about southern miss?
11/21/2010 1:04:30 AM
Boise and TCU would also both rape the shit out of us.
11/21/2010 1:21:24 AM
^Don't fall into the hype. I would LOVE a game with either of those. We would be bigtime underdogs and all the pressure would be on them. Those teams are NOT that good and I don't know if you have noticed, but we can hang with probably anyone
11/21/2010 2:59:17 AM
NCSU beats UMD and NCSU beats VT -> Orange Bowl vs. LSU or Auburn (if they lose SEC championship) or Wisconsin (assuming they win Big 10) or Pitt (if BCS realizes ACC and Big East are not up to the level of other conferences this year)NCSU beats UMD and VT beats NCSU -> Chic-fil-A Bowl vs. South Carolina (if they lose SEC championship) or LSU/ArkansasUMD beats NCSU -> We would drop behind VT, FSU, UMD and be tied with Miami. We could be chosen over UMD because our fanbase travels well and end up at Champ Sports (vs. UConn/WVU), but will likely be in Sun (vs. Oregon State/Arizona) or Car Care Bowl (vs. Uconn/WVU).[Edited on November 21, 2010 at 11:03 AM. 11/21/2010 11:01:24 AM
^^ have you even watched Boise State play this year? Don't fall into the anti-hype.
11/21/2010 11:08:33 AM
meant to post this in the ACCCG thread but it got the bucketThere's a Chik-Fil-A ticket package where you can get 4 upper level tickets for $100also includes vouchers for 4 tshirts and spicy chicken sandwichestotal comes to $115 w/ processing fees, still better than cheap tix through ticketmasteryou have to call 336-331-3820 and place your order by Tuesday, Nov. 23 (2 days from now)
11/21/2010 11:28:18 AM
^ you're doing it wrong.
11/21/2010 11:30:58 AM
11/21/2010 11:41:42 AM
i would want stanford in the orange
11/21/2010 1:18:02 PM
11/21/2010 1:20:46 PM
VT? The best team on our scheduleAnd lol at you using 'we'
11/21/2010 1:23:31 PM
so going to, and working at a University for 5 years isnt enough to call it we? once again Ernie shows his ignorance. "Hey guys, I'm Ernie, anything Jaybee posts I will be against!"
11/21/2010 1:24:57 PM
Yeah, I'd say VT is the best team we've hung with
11/21/2010 1:26:21 PM
Based strictly on possible matchups, I'd rather drop down to the Sun than get Champs Sports. When's the last time we even played a Pac 10 team? A game vs. Oregon State would be a good end to the season, if we did lose to Md.
11/21/2010 3:40:52 PM
so what did I miss, what happened to the gator bowl?
11/21/2010 3:46:17 PM
^^Except who the fuck wants to go to El Paso, nobody that's who^the ACC doesn't have a tie-in with the Gator Bowl anymore[Edited on November 21, 2010 at 3:47 PM. Reason : .]
11/21/2010 3:46:54 PM
Yeah, I'm not going anywhere so I'm being selfish and saying I'd rather not waste time watching us play the thrilling UConn Huskies. Whoopie!
11/21/2010 3:49:05 PM
Yeah. The bowl game needs to stay on the east coast. None of this sun bowl shit.
11/21/2010 3:53:34 PM
If we won the ACCCGRight now you are looking at Wisconsin vs. TCU/Boise (whoever finishes higher) in the rose bowlFiesta will be Big 12 winner vs. Big East WinnerSugar would be LSU against Stanford most likelyThat would leave Orange with Us against Boise/TCU whoever is lower.
11/21/2010 3:56:01 PM
11/21/2010 3:57:07 PM
I wish we'd get a tie-in with a game that has a Big Ten or Pac 10 team. Tired of playing the Big East.
11/21/2010 3:57:10 PM
You could also look at it from the perspective that even if we got matched up with an intriguing Pac-10 team the atmosphere at a Sun Bowl game would be fucking terrible and boring to watch because there would be like 5k people there. Not to mention there's pretty much zero chance we play UCONN in a bowl game.[Edited on November 21, 2010 at 4:02 PM. 11/21/2010 3:58:58 PM
I was at the last Champs Sports/Tangerine Bowl and that stadium was a dump in the middle of the ghetto. Also, I hate Orlando.Let's just hope we get Chick Fil A.
11/21/2010 4:00:12 PM
Yes however my list was based on things finishing how they are now. For all we know Boise loses to Nevada, Oregon loses to Arizona, Auburn loses to Alabama, etc etc.
11/21/2010 4:01:47 PM
Auburn losing to Alabama is actually likely, those other outcomes aren't.
11/21/2010 4:03:14 PM
Well in that case its pretty unlikely we beat UMD and then VT so this conversation is null and void anyways
11/21/2010 4:05:19 PM
Well, no.It's likely we beat MD and lose to VT.
11/21/2010 4:08:32 PM
^, ^^ Just a side note pointing out that his sentence structure implies that both wins together are unlikely (and is taken as a collective whole), not that both a win at UM is unlikely and also a win at VT is unlikely. It's semantics, really.
11/22/2010 8:13:22 AM
I wasn't gonna say it but exactly haha
11/22/2010 9:27:36 AM
i just can't believe we're 11 weeks into the season and can use the terms NC State and BCS in the same sentence.

Hey I said we would go 8-4 before the season started so worst case we finish exactly as I expected .

what's the ticket situation for the ACC championship game, is there an coastal/atlantic side designated?and how are they avoiding VT fans just buying up the majority of tickets
11/22/2010 12:06:38 PM
actually the 'worst' we can finish is 8-5
11/22/2010 12:13:44 PM
seeing notre dame creep up into the champs sports bowl in a projection or two. could be a fun gator bowl redux, but playing a big east team in orlando...eww. orange bowl against tosu would be the definition of epic, but i really can't believe (if things hold) the sugar bowl would pass on an ohio state/lsu match-up. i still want to see stanford in the orange bowl. also, new years in atlanta against a mississippi st. type team would be pretty epic as well./counting chickens
11/22/2010 12:39:57 PM
Yeah how many tickets does the the school playing VT get allocated in the championship game?
11/22/2010 12:43:46 PM
Each School gets set aside an allotment the rest is on sale to anybody. I got my tickets back in March because I love college football I live in Charlotte, why not. So now that State has a chance to play I am even more stoked. I have tickets on the 45 about 10 rows up.
11/22/2010 12:54:35 PM
so you'll need to be WPC to get them from the school then
11/22/2010 12:56:08 PM
Rflong is an idiot. I there is one thing I'm not it's a bandwagon fan. Stuck with State through their years of shit, sticking with Tennessee through theirs...
