No shout out for the Textile Bowl in the OP?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textile_Bowl
10/31/2010 11:25:38 PM
im IN textiles and i dont even care about that stuff
10/31/2010 11:33:45 PM
I'm not saying you should, its just that this is the only annual game we have that has a specific name to it, might as well use it.
10/31/2010 11:41:18 PM
ellington being out is great, but that line can still run block. We gotta find some way to stop the run and get parker to throw picks to us
11/1/2010 12:03:26 AM
im going to be pissed if we dont blitz the shit out of parkerthe guy hasnt looked good this year, but he had fits of decent play last year and he has an arm and the physical talent to play well if you give him time. if we lay back in the 2009 archer scheme I can see it being a disaster. just throw everyone in his face and let him have his one lucky 80 yard pass to go with 2 INTs a ton of rushed, inaccurate passes

Ellington out for at least two games.http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/31474/andre-ellington-injuredWe need to get over this loser mentality of being ranked. Go down to Clemson, stomp their ass into the ground, then on to the next one.
11/1/2010 8:22:52 AM
^ Thank you. Sick of all this "oh no we're ranked, now we're doomed" bullshit.

Clemson has what, 6 wins in a row against us? I said the same thing about the BC game. If we are going to beat them, this is the year to do it.[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 8:51 AM. Reason : -]

If we cannot beat Clemson in Death Valley this year, I am not sure we'll ever win again in that damn place. That being said I will be there which means we will shut the bed.Clemson: 24State: 21Honestly I am picking against State because every time I pick them, they lose, every time I pick against them, they win. With Ellington out, we should win this game, but this is starting to sound like the ECU game where people are over confident. It is still an ACC road game.

I'm glad it's at 12 because it means I'll see most of the game before I have to go to work

Losing Ellington will hurt, but Jamie Harper was a 5-star All-American RB. As long as the line blocks well, they may not take much of a setback.

I don't know about you guys but I'd like to see our program winning 8+ games consistently and if you guys never want us to be ranked because we always lose when we get ranked then we will continue to enjoy our 6-6 and 5-7 seasons.

Never having been to Clemson, I wonder just how bad of an experience it would be if I were to buy tickets for the game.... Anyone been to a game there before?

Mustafa should be the frontrunner for starting RB this game after the performance vs. FSU. What great timing to play in front of your home state.
11/1/2010 11:15:02 AM
11/1/2010 11:18:55 AM
^^Dean has a concussion so they might start Mustafa, but Dean is the better blocker of the two, hence why he has been getting the starts over Moose.
11/1/2010 11:23:43 AM
^ well if blocking is a#1 to these coaches then Washington should get the start

Clemson's a great place to catch a game. Great atmosphere, and their fans generally match up well with ours. Death Valley is still THE stadium in the ACC as far as I'm concerned, but CF is catching up nicely.
11/1/2010 11:40:52 AM
One of the best ACC gameday atmospheres, but don't know that Saturday will be representative of that. After losing to UNC and BC, and playing flat in the GT win, their bandwagon has thinned out little bit. Add in a noon kickoff and one of my Clemson friends said our fans might be more up for it than they are.

with all due respect, didn't haynes have a mild concussion on his fumble? hard to hold on to the ball when your bell is rung that bad. but yeh, he's had a couple drops here at the start of his career. hopefully he's gonna put a lid on that mess.
11/1/2010 12:01:43 PM
I went there the night before the game last year and went to the Tiger's Den. Everyone was very friendly except maybe one drunk guy. There was a good mix of state fans and clemson fans at the bar. We started a wolfpack chant but they drowned us out with their fight song.It was hard to find parking so we parked reaaaal far away. We actually joined some random Clemson fans on our way to the stadium and they gave us some of their beers. The stadium looks huge compared to CF so I would def recommend going down and seeing what we need to work up to.
11/1/2010 12:04:13 PM
^^^not saying I want Dean to start. But this IS the reason he has been starting. It was made known earlier in the season that this was the reason he was starting. Talked to a player on Friday and he said the same thing about Dean starting.I would love to see Mustafa get 20+ carries, he's becoming one of my favorite players[Edited on November 1, 2010 at 12:08 PM. I dont want to jinx it or anything, but look at the one constant in all of Clemson's loses:
11/1/2010 12:26:35 PM
^damn it now Wilson is going to shut the bed I might go to this game. How/where do you people buy tickets?
11/1/2010 12:29:23 PM
I would be interested in going if people decide to get a group together to split costs and what not and buy tickets together. If this happens someone PM me or something.
11/1/2010 12:31:11 PM
Tickets on the Clemson website are $24/each. I bet you get stuck into the stadium at large though (aka away from the NC State section)
11/1/2010 12:33:46 PM
^ a few ... Haynes lost the ball and THEN got his bell rung ... I think his fumble actually put his body in to a position to get hit awkwardly, leading to the concussion, if I remember correctly.
