If you have room for it then take...golftennisor any other racquet sportI took golf at Wake Tech and took Tennis at NC State. I am not good at either, but I am way better than I was before I took them. Through out life you will meet plenty of people who are interested in these sports.[Edited on October 18, 2010 at 2:13 AM. yes i am better you may not think so but that is the truthSorry, but you're really not. While looking at all the threads you have created over the past year or so, everyone here can tell that you really care a lot about grades, and nothing else. Therefore, I will point you to your old thread related to PY 124.http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=588180Comparing apples to apples, we were in the same class, had to deal with a teacher swap mid-semester, same tests, etc. However, you struggled for a while, people hounded you on this forum about it, but pulled off a satisfactory which I can understand was an accomplishment for you. On the other hand, I learned a lot in that class, wasn't in it for the grade, and ended up with an A+.Using the fairest methods I can make (which is pretty hard considering your background), I would have to say that no, you are not better than me. And, once again, you are not better than most of the people here simply because you have a good GPA and have worked little to achieve it. Most people are attacking you here because you are extremely arrogant, and you truly have a corrupted view of the real world. Please go to a career fair before you graduate and hand them your transcript, because I doubt you have anything remotely resembling a good resume. Better yet, walk into the office of a job you want and hand them the same thing. Transcripts aren't the whole story, and employers know it. They will tell you exactly what everyone else is saying here. But if it takes that to turn your mind around, then I'm all for it. I'm sure no one here wants to see you fail, and that's why we're all beating you around in this forum, but you are certainly headed down that path.[Edited on October 18, 2010 at 8:46 AM. no if anything i am better than you. yes I do care about grades more than larning so? a lot of people do especially in chass.ok you got me i sucked in that PY 124 and ended up with an 84 haha no it was not an accomplishment for me anything that isn't a A=4.0 GPA is not an accomplishment, infact thats the only class I got a B, technically an S, in that semester. actually it was supposed to be the easiest class but it was a physics class so naturally i was bad at it, i still got A's in way harder classes (philosophy , literature, etc.) and i sure as hell dont see how you learned a lot? lol there wasn't much work at all in that class if anything you ending up getting an A+ in that class makes you worse than me. you are good at doing the easy stuff apparently which that class was (all lecture, only 4 tests). no you are the one with a corrupted view of the real world, i am not arrogant but you think reading the posts here make me arrogant, you have a corrupted viewi never said transcript is the whole story but its still pretty important at the moment, don't worry about me not being able to get a job, resume, etc. i already stressed that chass students don't have high aspirations therefore its not what you think.

This thread turned into Trolling 101.

For someone that got an A in philosophy, "such a hard class to get an A in," your arguments are attrocious. Your arguments are so poor, I actually feel like reading your posts has given me dementia.
10/18/2010 12:26:22 PM
the only one trolling here are the random people coming into the topic deciding it would be fun to voice their weak-ass arguments which is now xbltheshadow. this guy who i see no reason why is bringing up past stuff about PY 124, etc., that is just a class I was taking for fun, I wasn't even going to try that hard anyway, he is appaprently still upset over the fact i am better than him because even though i don't work that hard or take hard classes, can still manage to make good grades. also working little and having a high gpa don't make sense so you are wrong again^ ok. maybe you think so thats fine. then ignore them, no one told you to randomly come into this topic, read my posts, then go off-topic trying to come up with a good argument, thats just sad and i'd think someone with a "4.0 in Engineering" would have better things to do with their time.[Edited on October 18, 2010 at 12:55 PM. "i am better than him because even though i don't work that hard or take hard classes, can still manage to make good grades. also working little and having a high gpa don't make sense so you are wrong again"Are you not aware of how self-contradictory this quote is?

^He definitely is. He is trying pretty hard too hard to troll/sound like a 6th grader.

I realize this thread is about finding a fun, useful, or interesting free elective....which I have not. Hear me out, maybe I can offer some insight.I am in outside sales, which is currently salary+commission, but will move into straight commission starting at the beginning of July 2010. I have been in this position since July 2009. I have competition from several direct manufacturing sales reps, large distributors, and local distributors. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each:Direct Advantages: Immediate knowledge of new technology, no middle man mark up, one shipping bill (paid by manufacturer or buyer of goods), access to larger range of non-commodity items, control inventory, have access to many distributors that can effectively sell their goods which increases market share, and set prices of commodity they manufacture.Direct disadvantages: Typically have 1-3 sales reps per region (i.e. southeast, mid-atlantic, northeast, etc.) limiting the number of accounts they can successfully manage/cold-call, lack physical customer service or physical technical service available to or affordable for smaller users or altogether, are sometimes not trustworthy because they will go in behind their distributors that sell their commodity to one account in large quantities (i.e. they missed a big account, and have found out about it through a distributor selling their particular product) which leads to the distributor not selling their product anymore, have too many distributors selling the product ultimately driving the set price down through deviations, possibly rely on distributors to actually sell the product, and competition from other direct sources.Large distributor advantages: have access to other commodities that go hand in hand with other manufacturers (poor example- grocery stores sell milk as well as cereal), get direct pricing, many locations regionally or nationally easing the shipping burden of buyers with multiple locations, personal service either customer or technical, many sales reps that are able to cover a broader territory, access to multiple manufacturers of the same commodity allowing to keep prices in check, service programs that smaller companies can't offer and direct providers can't match in price or value, and experts of many many commodities as opposed to one or a few.Large distributor disadvantages: smaller local distributors creating price wars (think Michael Scott Paper Co vs Dunder-Mifflin), direct mfg's going in behind and stealing business, limited access to all of the mfg's (you won't find Harris Teeter name brands in Food Lion and visa versa), can't truly set prices because it's based on both supply and demand, territory management, and tough growth prospects in slower economies (this is true for direct as well really)Local distributor advantages: Typically a good ol' boy setting where the seller and the buyer know each other for years (this does happen at all levels, but mostly at the local level), local folks are right down the street and can be used in emergencies, if the local guy buys at high enough volumes then there is no shipping charge to the end user, and access to both direct mfg's and large distributors.Local distributor disadvantages: easily beaten in price, array of commodities, array of technology, lack of trained staff, low cash flow, etc etc etc. This is what I have noticed in my six months, I am sure there are plenty more that need mentioning. The way I am setting myself apart as a sales person is this: I go after the big accounts right now while I am new. The big accounts, if I land them, will take care of me while I am new and building a customer base. The money made off of those allows me to focus free time on smaller accounts that get me higher margins. I build up big accounts, I would like to have 5-10 of these, then get 20-30 medium accounts. If I lose 1 or 2 big accounts, the 20-30 medium accounts keep me afloat while I go after new big accounts. I don't really waste time on small accounts simply because they basically pay for breakfast or something really small.I will say this, if you can't get a big account in the first 6-8 months (assuming you have cash flow that you can ride this long) you could be in a world of trouble. If you can get one, it will really make going after the others a lot more enjoyable and less stressful. It's simply just very exhausting wasting any time on anything other than big accounts in the very beginning. You work just as hard on the medium sized accounts and see 1/3 to 1/36 of the money in my situation. If you have any other questions, you can PM me. I hope this helps in the slightest![Edited on October 18, 2010 at 1:09 PM. Reason : s]

Ah ha! So, I realized that gz390 posted his current schedule in the Fall 2010 classes topic a couple months ago. He's taking 3 sociology classes, so it's probably safe to assume he's a sociology major. It all makes sense now. We are all part of some big social experiment and he has us all under his omnipotent control right now. gg, gz.
10/18/2010 1:17:28 PM
you read almost all my posts? well damn, i'm still not a sociology major, though, its about as useless as history or philsophy, and that schedule was not final so most of the classes i'm taking are different, i do have a lot of room for free electives after all and i take a lot of soc. classes because are easiest to me^^ what i meant was not self-contradictory. I was saying you still have to do work to earn a good grade even if the class is easy, fool. what about the people that don't do any work in an easy class?[Edited on October 18, 2010 at 1:37 PM.
