You guys are right we don't miss felton or chandler at all. 1-6, sweet season.
11/9/2010 10:02:56 AM
I don't think anybody claimed we wouldn't miss FeltonYou're confusing that with your false assertion that Felton is clearly the 2nd best PG in the Eastern Conference and his rape by Nelson in the playoffs was just a fluke]
11/9/2010 10:06:24 AM

currently sitting in the 8th spot in the east at 8-13.the east is a joke.
12/8/2010 4:35:13 PM
kinda ironic that the last pic i posted on this page is of Carmelo Anthony...stay tuned to this breaking news story
12/11/2010 9:52:43 PM
Name that Bobcat:32 minutes, 0-8 FG, 0 pts, 0 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl, 4 turnovers, 3 fouls.
12/12/2010 12:32:38 PM
that would be our star point guard, DJ Augustin
12/12/2010 5:16:52 PM
im glad we arent getting Carmelo he is so overrated its not even funny. I wouldnt mind being the third team involved to help facilitate a deal if it gets rid of Boris Diaw somehow.
12/12/2010 6:53:59 PM
was he overrated at Syracuse?the Bobcats, since their inception, have never had a go-to scoring guyyeah J-Rich filled that role a little, and S-Jax kind of fills it now, but they're not superstars like Melo]
12/12/2010 6:54:49 PM
go-to scoring guy, yes.superstar? No.
12/12/2010 7:08:49 PM
so Melo isn't a superstar in your eyesI'd love to see which players you consider superstarsI'd say, in no particular orderLebron, Kobe, D-Wade, Melo, Rondo, Durant, CP3, Deron Williams, Dwight HowardI might have left out a few but I think all those guys are "superstars"]
12/12/2010 7:13:19 PM
i would pretty much agree with that list exactly except you have to add Kevin Love and Pau Gasol and melo isn't as good as any of the guys on that list.Kobe is questionable based on where he is right now, but taking his career into account and the fact he's still a good player im okay with him being included.Duncan would be in the same boat as Kobe, he's still a good player and a superstar based on name recognition and previous ability.Same goes for Garnett.[Edited on December 12, 2010 at 7:25 PM. Reason : add]
12/12/2010 7:23:24 PM
so would you remove Melo from the list or do you agree that he probably is a superstar?i can't believe i'm having to sell Melo as a superstar
12/12/2010 7:24:04 PM
42.9% FG, 32.6% 3-pt, 22.8 pts, 8 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl, 0.6 blk, 2.7 to'sThat's a superstar to you? Based on name recogntion and scoring ability he's a superstar but based on actual production he's not an elite player in the NBA.
12/12/2010 7:37:56 PM
troll troll troll your boat
12/12/2010 7:40:40 PM
I forgot to mention Dirk...definitely a superstar
12/12/2010 7:57:52 PM
Kevin Love, eh?
12/12/2010 7:59:26 PM
Love is statistically one of the top players in the league this yearBut that doesn't make him a superstar
12/12/2010 8:01:54 PM
you will see after he changes teams, assuming the team acquiring Carmelo gives up some talent and denver gets something back, neither teams will be changed THAT much... he's more of a name than a player. He's a good player, but not one of the NBA's truly elite. And considering he'll get a max deal and you have to trade some assets to get him, he's just not that worth it...Love is definitely better than Carmelo. The Bulls wouldn't trade Noah for Melo for a good reason, Noah is too valuable...
12/12/2010 8:07:12 PM
Love is definitely better than Carmeloat rebounding
12/12/2010 8:10:29 PM
And shooting.
12/12/2010 8:13:50 PM
if you ignore everything that ever happened before this season, then yes you would be rightin 2 dozen games this year, Kevin Love had better shooting percentages than Carmelo Anthony]
12/12/2010 8:32:57 PM
Career shootingMelo: 45.8% FG, 30.9% 3-ptLove: 45.4% FG, 34.5% 3-ptAnd this year Love is 42.7% from 3's, so I think it's fair to say he is a much better 3pt shooter than Melo. Now factor in Love averaging 15.6 rebs compared to Melo's 8, and it's easy to see why Love is better than Carmelo and why no GM would ever trade Love straight up for Melo.
12/12/2010 9:00:22 PM
12/12/2010 9:09:08 PM
I like how at the end of regulation in the Knicks game, Nene got a tech...Felton missed the free throw...then Carmelo missed a 3Nene > Felton > Melo
12/12/2010 9:17:13 PM
PER is a terrible metric and got destroyed when it got tested for correlation to wins. No one in the sports science community takes PER seriously. The simple problem is that it heavily favors players that shoot a lot.Kobe is having the worst season of his careerin quite some time by any metric.43.8% FG, 30.3% 3pt? He's a few years away from being an ineffective scorer as his athleticism continues to slip to the point where it can't offset his shot selection. And yes you are correct Nene is having quite the season this year.[Edited on December 12, 2010 at 9:20 PM. 12/12/2010 9:18:59 PM
I'll admit, I don't look at the rate/advanced statistics as much to judge the NBA players like I do baseball but as I'm scanning his page over at probball-reference he is at or above his career averages almost across the board at the advanced statistics. His RB%, AST%, PER, WS/48, ORtg, DRtg and TOV% are all at or better than his career average.
12/12/2010 9:23:12 PM
12/12/2010 9:24:10 PM
Also, Felton is kind of nasty. He had himself a day today and I think he's making A'mare look really, really good... Fits this system to a tee.
12/12/2010 9:25:24 PM
yeah Felton was the 2nd best PG in the East last season (behind Rondo by a wide margin) and everyone on here said I was wrong about that at the time. Now its obvious I wasn't.Just look at the dropoff the Bobcats have had and how much better the Knicks are...
