i saw it last night and enjoyed it. But I think you have to manage your expectations. If you're not someone who can simply enjoy a movie that isn't trying to be anything other than what it is (hot chicks in costumes, essentially acting out a video game) then you're def. not going to like it. And I don't blame you.I like really serious, well written and well shot films. But I also enjoy pop-corn fodder. I went in with very low expectations regarding the story and writing, and I enjoyed it. Again, hot chicks in slooty outfits, action, steam-powered zombie nazis, dragons, mech-warriors, 2 levels of fantasy worlds... all from the guy who shot 300, Watchmen. Hopefully... nobody is expecting Citizen Cane.

How am I supposed to take your opinion seriously when you can't even get the title of a movie right? Also, LOL at "steam-powered."

^^ How am I supposed to take your opinion seriously when you can't even get the name of a director right?

shoot... Citizen Kane... now that i've used the correct letter, which achieves the same phonetic effect as my first choice, let's get back to Sucker Punch.Scott Glenn is in it... who doesn't like Scott Glenn? and ... a GIANT Samurai monster with a gatling gun.So just to review:Scott Glenn - CheckHot Chicks - CheckSlooty outfits - CheckHand Guns - CheckSwords/knives - CheckGiant Samurai monsters - CheckDragons - Checkass kicking - CheckGatling Guns - Checkbullet point of view/slow down, stop, pivot, then suddenly speed up camera shots - CheckMuted color palette - CheckCarla Gugino - CheckRandom creature warrior guys - Check.50 cal machine guns being fired out of the side of an airplane - CheckEntirely digitally created sets - CheckZombies/dead people which are being driven by "steam and clock-work" (Scott Glenn's words) - Checkfantasy worlds within fantasy worlds - Checkvideo game style missions and action - Checkloud sound track dominating the scenes - CheckI probably forgot something. But i feel confident saying that it delivered on everything promised in the previews. -- that's assuming that from the previews, you realize this movie really isn't much more than what I listed above.[Edited on March 26, 2011 at 7:10 PM. ^I'm not sure why I'm even posting in this thread since it's so full of troll I feel like I just started playing WoW again. That being said, Watchmen was excellently done, and perfectly captured the characters for the graphic novel. Unfortunately the flaws that were in watchmen were more apparent in Sucker Punch. The dialog was extremely dry and parts of the story were easy to miss due to crazy visuals and stop start camera work. Of course none of that matters because I, like hopefully everyone else who's going to see Sucker Punch, is going to see it for the short skirts and the long... long samurai swords.tl,dr Go see Sucker Punch it kicks some serious ass!

I saw it last night. It helped that I was in a theatre with a bar, so I had four drinks that made the dialog a lot easier to swallow. There was lots of A++ shit blowing up, especially on the train sequence where they shot the robots in the head. -That Korean girl is fine as hell.-All of the girls were pretty good lucking, but somehow I left thinking there could've been some more T&A.-The plot was all over the place and the overarching plot still doesn't make sense to me, or wasn't conveyed real well.-The movie reminded me a lot of the video games Sanitarium and Psychonaughts.Overall: A+ for action, D+ for a film

sanitarium was probably the best game ever made soo ... +infinity to that

Between you, me, and my brother that I made play the game, we might be the only 3 people who know about that game's existence. + Infinite back at ya.[Edited on March 27, 2011 at 6:02 PM. Reason : .]

with regard to the nazi destruction in this movie, reminded me a bit of Inglourious Basterds. some kind of passive aggressive jewish-owned hollywood trend?
4/3/2011 10:47:41 AM
I still think the Nazis got off easy... remember that they routinely murdered people on a minute-by-minute basis. I don't think Jews have anything to do with it. Nazis are THE go-to enemy of the next (and past) fifty years.
