Holy crap at marshall's imaginary daughter
10/25/2010 8:08:29 PM
^yeah dude, that was my favorite part of the episode. I also enjoyed plastic surgery Barney (even tho he looked creepy as hell).
10/26/2010 8:42:08 AM
I was worried about this season after the first 2 episodes, but this most recent one is exactly what I love about this show... WAY TO BRING IT BACK, MR(S) CBS HIMYM WRITERS!
10/26/2010 8:51:19 AM
I thought it was a great episodethe Jeremy reference was pretty good
10/26/2010 10:20:45 AM
three quality episodes in a row
10/26/2010 6:10:30 PM
another good episode, I laughed at "nile'd it" even though I had already seen it on the commercialalso, wieners and gonads.
11/8/2010 9:35:55 PM
I like that they brought back sandwich = weed, its nice when they give little things like that for long-time fans.also, perfect amount of ted in this episode. his storyline was the least important of the 3, but the few moments he did have were really goodfurthermore, this episode reassured the barney-robin wedding theory
11/9/2010 1:38:10 AM
i just wish we'd spend less time on this broad. shes a looker, but there can't be much more than that to her as far as a long term love interest. we already know his wife lives with that lesbian girl.
11/9/2010 8:24:23 AM
Definitely setting up Barney/Robin which IMO would be a show killer. Zoe is hot but story has about run it's course. Lilly is downright annoying but I like that she hasn't lost her pregnancy rack Funny episode though. Everyone in corporate America knows a Captain..
11/9/2010 10:16:04 AM
Not sure what to think about Zoe. Episode was good though.
11/12/2010 3:50:39 PM
I find myself humming the opening line to the Beaver song now...
11/17/2010 10:34:23 AM
2 beavers are better than 1.
11/17/2010 11:48:44 AM
The beaver part had me crying from laughing so hard
11/18/2010 9:35:13 PM
Couple of good Lost references on there last night.
11/23/2010 5:06:54 PM
last night's episode was pretty solid, and there were just the right amount of Lost references
11/23/2010 5:11:22 PM
the gentleman
11/23/2010 5:12:26 PM
As someone who never got into lost, can someone explain those references? I knew he was on that show and assumed there were some jokes about that, but I didn't know what/when.
11/23/2010 5:35:17 PM
When Marshall asked for random numbers and Jorge Garcia spouts 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 those numbers were his character on Lost's winning lottery numbers as well as being significant in other ways that I don't feel like getting intothe score when the blitzy curse transfers is the same type of score they used for dramatic/suspenseful moments on the showand dude saying "I was on that island for what seems like eternity. I'm gonna enjoy things on the other side." is a reference to how the characters were trapped on an island for most of Lost (and Lost was filmed in Hawaii so the actors had to stay in Hawaii for a lot of 6 years)[Edited on November 23, 2010 at 5:47 PM. I love LOST and I love HIMYM, but I didn't really think forcing Hurley into a role on the show was very good. It didn't seem to work, at all.
11/24/2010 10:32:55 AM
You missed a fewWhen he says "Aw, Man!", that his what his character on LOST would always say whenever he couldn't find any coconutsWhen he flips the coin and it lands on his side, this is a reference to when he would play POGS with Locke and a similar thing happenedAnd when Robin has the Paul Stanley facepaint, this a reference to how Hurley and Sawyer used to rock out to KISS music in the hatch
11/24/2010 10:42:06 AM
There were also Buffy references. I didn't pick up on them until I saw this on wikipedia:
12/1/2010 3:28:55 PM
^I thought of that episode when I saw that, but didnt really think of it as a Buffy reference. You know, the first season of this show, they had a bunch of Whedonverse guest stars...Wesley, Fred, Inara, Andrew, The Mayor...but since then, nothing...really surprised they havent had more, the producers are supposedly huge Buffy fans.
12/1/2010 11:57:10 PM
trying too hard to be a "classic HIMYM episode" - I still thought it was funny in parts (mostly Barney) but the manatee/mermaid thing was just dumb
12/7/2010 9:22:03 AM
i, too, thought this week's ep "tried too hard"
12/7/2010 9:58:34 AM
worst narration of any episode in recent memory
12/7/2010 10:40:29 AM
I thought the manatee thing was funny!
12/7/2010 3:43:17 PM
robin would not be a manatee to any hetero male
12/7/2010 3:45:41 PM
^ To be fair, the clock was pretty short with her (just one evening) versus his assistant (year and change). I guess the time was to overcome the whole "friend of my wife" thing. That, and the alcohol helps too. [Edited on December 7, 2010 at 4:28 PM. Reason : alcohol]
12/7/2010 4:27:49 PM
it is true that a girl puking makes her immediately unattractive
12/7/2010 10:42:21 PM
nah, i can work through that
12/7/2010 11:11:54 PM
12/9/2010 5:11:39 PM
I've never seen that woman before in my life!
12/14/2010 3:20:27 PM
Really liked that episode.
12/15/2010 7:50:37 AM
yep, best of the seasonTed thinking about the movie snack cracked me up
12/15/2010 7:54:02 AM
I enjoyed it but why is Ted becoming more effeminate with each passing week.Reminds me of JD in Scrubs before they corrected him in S8.
12/15/2010 10:14:28 AM
When has Ted not been on the effeminate side?
12/15/2010 11:16:44 AM
Another episode NOT centered around Ted, and another quality episode. What an interesting correlation...btw, I think Punchy's wedding is a red herring. I'm still on the side of Ted is best man at Barny and Robin's wedding at the end of the season.[Edited on December 15, 2010 at 12:20 PM. Reason : -]
12/15/2010 12:19:47 PM
That has to been the saddest TV show ending since Fry's dog.
1/3/2011 8:31:57 PM
What was with the countdown going on?and jesus,
1/3/2011 8:34:07 PM
yeah whatever the payoff with the numbers turns out to be, it was annoying as hellgood episode though
1/3/2011 8:36:19 PM
I didn't notice the countdown, but I was wondering why the strage emphasis on different numbers.
1/3/2011 8:36:38 PM
The numbers were counting down to the end I guess, the cab was 001 and then Lily popped out.
1/3/2011 8:52:55 PM
this twas quite a sad one. [Edited on January 3, 2011 at 10:08 PM. Reason : .]
1/3/2011 10:04:38 PM
I didn't even pay attention to the numbers, but the ending was
1/4/2011 2:26:48 AM
I noticed they were counting down with the race car #41. It kind of distracted me after that. I was hoping that Barney would do something epic or whatever once they hit 1 but wow what a sad ending. For realz it's supposed to be a comedy show.
1/4/2011 10:16:39 AM
Jason Segel is a really good actor... Reminded me of a good Scrubs episode -- balanced comedy and extreme sadness/drama well.
1/4/2011 10:28:40 AM
will have to watch this tonight. didn't know it was new last night.
1/4/2011 10:38:36 AM
I guess they did it so you knew something was coming and could at least prepare yourself for itI had a feeling something bad was going to happen right after he walked out all happy about his sperm being good. I didn't guess it was his dad dying until he didn't answer the phone call
1/4/2011 10:39:09 AM
yeah, you just assumed it was a countdown until pregnancy...not death. But with one life ending, a new shall begin.Did anyone else think, the "24" was Julius Hodge on the magazine cover?
1/4/2011 1:51:06 PM
I completely missed the numbers. I guess that's what I get for putting together a piece of IKEA furniture during an episode. I'm going to re-watch to try and catch 'em all. The only one I remember explicitly was the "6" on the file the doctor threw away. I thought that later on it would come out that the doctor picked up the wrong file, mistaking a 6 for a 9 or vice versa, and we'd later find out that Marshall had slow swimmers or something like that.
